Steve- Would you be able to make a metal intake manifold?

Are there any benefits that can be had with a different intake manifold?
Something along the lines of this:

You have me on a NA bug right now. Damn you ;)

The cost would be prohibitive... tooling for making a cast manifold can run around 100K. sometimes as low as 20K but not often. Additionally, all the testing that would have to be done and post machining etc to get that going would be horrible. The easiest thing to do is work with the stock mani and modify it in any way that gets more power out of it... polishing it, trumpeting the head side, and removing of extra emissions baffles etc. That's about it!

A sheet metal manifold or a tubular one would be less expensive and likely pretty functional.. but again we are still talking pretty big bucks.. probably roughtly 400 a pop for me to do them, possibly more.

Well for cosmetics how bout a front lip and sideskirts? I dont know if thats the kind you were talking about. Engine wise, lots of bolt-ons.

I can try and talk to a few companies that would do the body kits... it'll be interesting to see what responses I'll get back! But I will try to look into it in the next few weeks if I can.

Thanks for the info, Steve!

That reminds me, I will take a look at all the silver trim pieces in the 3, and see what can be replaced and what's directly molded on.

It would be totally sweet to get REAL aluminum replacements for all that stuff.

I'd be interested in either a front lip or bumper replacement that would maintain an appearance *similar* to stock, though a bit lower, more like a GT car with an inch drop MAX.... simple but effective ;)

also sideskirts and possibly a rear lip as well would be awesome. I find a lot of the 'cleaner' body kits that I like are available only for the 4-door, and it leaves us Sport drivers hanging in the wind :p

I Want It

i would like a panel that goes where the navigation goes that could house a 6" or 7" lcd. that would be awesome...or mayb a replacement for the radio that u can put a tv in there?

150 could be hard with it powdercoated... but I'll see what I can do as that is one I defintely want to tackle. andy of you 3 guys interested???

A Triangalted strut bar, that ties together the two shock towers and the firewall. for the MSP, P5.

I want:

1)A good price 150ish

2)Powder Coat color options, maybe

3)Better than CPracing customer service and shipping execuses.

Greatly interested in more than just a normal 2 point strut bar!!!

A nice rear swaybar would be great as well.

Even if the price was around 200 that would be fine to. I just want the strut bar to be the same color as the stock one on my MSP, (I thought powder coating would be able to match the stock color well).

Yes I am interested. Will you include all of the mounting bolts, washers, and other stuff needed to install the bar to the firewall?

Basically I want a triangulated strut bar that mimics CP racing, but I want it to fit better than their bar, and include all of the necessary firewall mounting hardware.

Also I don't want to deal with there poor customer service and slow delivery times.

Yeah we will include all hardware... Our lead times often aren't all that good on getting parts into stock... but when we have something in stock and you place an order, it WILL ship within 2 days, and it goes FedEx... and we do everything we can on customer service... talk to the people who reviewed us in the vendors section.

We'd likely make the bar out of cro-moly, thick wall, and probably 3/4-1". It would all be tig welded, and all plates would be laser cut. So it would be precise.

It would be a costly project for us, so we would need there to be more than on interested party, but it would be something we are capable of and would happily pursue if the interest is there. We'd probably need to be sure that we'd see 5-10 sales to embark on the project.

Also, i don't accept payments if I don't have something in stock. So that also helps alleviate that issue. Talk to any of my customers... I doubt anyone can complain about our response time on anything. We've had some hold ups and delays trying to get some products out (like our FCD), because of other issues... but products that are released and at full market status are always shipped when we say, and arrive quickly.

Hope that helps!

Thanks,

Steve

I've have to look at the 3 (Badger Biker tha means you! :) ) and then I could see what we could do... it all depends on how much forming would be necessary.. but we can do things like that.

Well, I am heading to Chicago tomorrow afternoon and will be back on Sat.

I am getting seat heaters installed on Monday, but most afternoons/evenings are pretty open for me.

What works out for you? We can go all over this thing inside and out if you want. :D

Unfortunately Saban has a mazdaspeed, but I would also be interested in a well-fitting and very functional strut/firewall brace as well as a rear swaybar

I think you would have better luck (Getting Interest) for one made for the mazda3 b/c your cars don't have a strut bar from the factory, were as my car comes with one.

but who knows?...
