I have got inventory of a ton of different strut bars and was thinking of developing one for the P5. I was going to take the ends off one that fit closely and re-drill the holes as needed. Then measure and find the bar that will fit between the two.
This would require drilling a 1x2" or close to it hole in each side of the plastic in the back, but would probalby make a nice addition to your suspension set up.
Cost on these would probably be around 70 to 80 bucks but maybe cheaper if it doesnt take me long to find the correct bar.
Also, ill probalby make one just to make it, but before i started selling them there would be a few things to discuss. For instance, i am doing this on my own and not as part of my company. Im using parts from a closeout buy that are non returnable, but nice quality, so i cannot warranty or return these.

If anyone is interested let me know. Id like to have some interest before i spend the time making them.

I forgot to add, If i could work with someone to help fit parts, i could probably make one for the MP3, MSP, and other Protege Sedans as well.

I could have them available in as soon as probably 2 weeks if i can find the time. i was hoping to start this weekend and have something done by the end of next week.

2 weeks? Hmm... Yea I would most likely have the money by than for one. As long as it's not going to be like pink or anything. Ha

hi everyone,
im from germany.im also interested in these strut bars.so if its possible to "create" the strute bars then i will take one and i`m sure some more here in germany too.
if its possible then send me some pictures to my email: pansen_01@web.de

I'm interested too. Would there be any way to have a quick release on this? That would be a GREAT feature for this for the P5s.

Jeremy

Which one do you have?

I would definitely do a rear strut tower brace if it had a quick release mechanism. Damnit why can't my car be 100% performance AND 100% functional :P

This would be an awesome feature if its possible. Like if you can get some pins between the brackets and bar then it would come out easily just in case something large has to go in the trunk.

If this is possible I think I would be interested.

It's absolutely possible. I picture it functioning like the quick-release skewers for the wheels and seat on my bike.

We just need something that can expand out and be tightened and then lock into place.

I'm surprised something like this isn't already made, maybe it is for other cars. It seems logical that something like this would be desirable when putting a strut tower brace in a sport wagon.

Then again, even if it was just one or two bolts you could do thumbscrews or something and then it would still be a tool-less way to remove the bar when needed.
