You can port and/or polish anything... Porting is simply the matching or enlargement of the ports on any given part. Polishing is just what it sounds like; Making something have a polished finish.
For example, my intake manifold it ported, and so is my throttle body, and a few other parts, but I've only lightly ported/polished my exhaust runners on my head, since that's all I could do without removing said head. =) Given that shortly I'll have a spare (I hope), I'll be able to port that out more completely. It usually makes the most DIFFERENCE when done to a head, but just remember, anything that flows can be ported/polished. =)
