GI : Intake Manifold for NA

I just went back into the shop this weekend to polish up on my mig skills and got a little more aquainted with the tig machine. I finally figured out how to get one of those professional looking beads. This week it was mild steel but I just ordered some stainless off bay. If you don't mind I'd like to try your idea out on my own and maybe we might be able to discuss. I just need to source a lower intake manifold with all the fixin's so I can build a jig. Anyway check out the work:

(cool) im interested. what kind of price range are we looking at?

Sounds very intriguing!!! Im in between staying N/A and going F/I. With this new manifold, which of the two would it be most beneficial? Are you going to make this for other displacement engines as well? In particular the 1.6???

we're getting there.

there are a few long weekends coming up shortly for me, so i'll have plenty of time to really get stuck into it all, but the basic design is pretty much set in stone at the moment, assuming it makes lotsa power.

forgot to ask - (or did i?)

if your in need of a 1.6 doner, let me know.... should have dates shortly... jsut waiting on kitty, who is waiting on aaron - might just come up without them

Thats great news to hear!! I can't wait for this to get done. This is probably one of the mods Ive been waiting to do for a long time. I see manifolds for Honda, Acura and Mustangs all the time and it bugged the crap outta me. Im glad someone has FINALLY come along to make these for us. A job well done Twilight!!

Quick question for you though: Would it be even more benefitial (or necessary) to Port/Polish the manifold as well?

andy, hopefully we can get things cracking around that june meet (sorry guys - there is 800+km of distance between us!!!) and if good track test it :p

the port and polish is something you do to the head... as far as i knew anyway??
