GI : Brake cooling ducting

Air can be directed around bends and obstructions without the use of a tubular duct... It just takes realising what goes in must be able to get out, and if it can be drawn out passively, that's half the battle won. I'm looking to make the undertray design to further supplement the brake duct cooling again...

So how's the project coming along? Run into any problems?

i've seen nothing like what i'm thinking appart from on racecars, but still that's not hugely similar.

our biggest problem is that we are fwd and there is little to no room to aim a brake duct, but i'll work it out.

a bit slow at the moment to be honest. my work is hell right now. chicaboo will actually be the person designing the brake ducting and i'll be helping out as much as i can

Update:
We should be able to get back on track with this in a couple of weeks, twilight and I both have some things interfering with our plans at the moment. I appreciate your patience and understanding.

Chicaboo.

if you're scared about water in the cai in the first place, neither the cai mod or this is for you.

i would have to say the chances of scooping up water is greater with this mod as you will be able to see the filter from under the car, but either way, driving through big puddles of water and you're asking for trouble.

i have an aem by-pass valve because im paranoid. the only reason i ask, is because its nice 90% of the time here. the other 10% its like a ******* monsoon...i realy dont want hydrolock lol

it is really hard to flood your engine through your intake, I wouldn't worry about it too much, just stay out of small rivers.

Im still very interested. This is going to work well with the N/A big brake upgrade, right? It'll help keep the pads cool and cut down on the amount of brake dust that sits on the wheels, right?

this will work well with big brakes or normal brakes, however with normal brakes you'd have to cut the sheild thingie thats behind them. either way, it should greatly reduce temps and brake dust as a bonus

not yet no, still in design faze. we're getting some business licences etc setup at the moment so we can buy supplies through suppliers at wholesale prices
