GHL Motorsports True Turboback Pictures

sorry about the stupid newb questions but is the S pipe something I could remove myself with ramps and a socket wrench?

well im doing mine in my driveway so with the right tools i say yes BUT, it seems to be the general consenus that you need to remove the turbo to get the S pipe out cause of the angle.

i'll take that as a no... right? how about the turbo can i remove that with my regular 64 piece craftsman tools?

well im sure the 64 piece kit will have most of the sockets needed, i only have a 74 piece so to answer your question, yes you can do it in your driveway with ramps. I dont know all the bolt sizes off hand but i dont see it being an issue, you might have to run to home depot and get a socket but thats expected on any upgrade. they love me there. Its easiest to remove the manifold and turbo and S pipe as one piece then put teh s pipe on and lower it into the car. Im going to do a writeup when i install mine but that depends on when i get it shipped.

werd, I'd do a write up on mine since I should be getting it after this weekend, but its not going on until January...

Whoo hoo! My down pipe is on the way. Just got the call from Cindy saying that it was shipped out yesterday.

Once again, I have to say that GHL is top notch in ever aspect. Cindy was incredibly courteous, just like Phil. We are very lucky they chose to support our car. If they ever decide to market a turbo manifold for us, I'll gladly do business with them again.

oh man, I wish I had the money to get the full turbo back... Wow! Nice work. But I'm cautious about the clamping style your using. When I had my 02 R6 i used a D&D slip on with the same style of clamp and it used to leak, I even tried putting a bit of ultra copper around it then slid it on and it still leaked just a bit. What will help to stop leaks if there happening?

i heard slip is good for thermal expansion, but thats a good question.

oh yea and cindy and all of ghl are extremely nice, even for someone like me who asks a million questions. (eekdance)

I mean it's not like you can put a new gasket in there. Also, after removing and installing this type of seal what are the chances of the seals leaking more and more each time. I'm not a genious with flanges, whether it be slip on or bolt style, but I'm thinking about the long term effect. Anyway, love the exhaust and I'll be saving for this one. Hell with warranty work, this is worth it's weight in gold. Besides, if something ever goes wrong I guess that means I have to go forged and AEM.

The clamps we use are Aircraft Steel clamps made specificly in stainless steel for us by an OEM manufacturer. Between that and the strength of the steel we use you will not have a problem.
