GHL Motorsports True Turboback Pictures

ahh thats a problem, hope mines not like that :( to remove the ac you have to remove the belt no?

if phill shipped out anotherone great. if it still doesnt work try removing the rads and manifold like i did. maybe then it will work?

well its flush with the turbo, i dont think its an install issue, i think its just too much of a radius to get it to not hit.

we should compare dimensions, like measure from the flange to the bend see if all of ours are the same. it could be done with 2 rulers. im going to measure mine tonight.

If anyone could get a drive-by or drive-away sound clip of the exhuast that would be cool.....

this quote is true..
Removing the rad and mani is only if you cannot get to the bolts that are hard to reach, at the back of the flange and the bottom. That was not an issue for me, the original dp is off without removing them and the new one is on. now think like this for a second. 1. Maybe I am not an amature machanic 2. if I remove the turbo and bolt it back up 20 times its still going to be in the same place and the pipe will be hitting the ac condensor. 3. it wont fit. Phill already took care of me so its not an issue. He runs a good business and I would not hesitate to do business with him in the future. I would not have put him through sending me another if I didnt know for a fact that this one would not work. Not trying to be an as$ but i dont care to have people act like I dont know what I am talking about when I would not post unless I was 100% sure.

You do have to remove the belt but that is no problem at all. Compared to taking off the turbo/mani/radiator it is a piece of cake and cuts the install of the downpipe to 45 min to 1.5 hours.(2thumbs) Depending on how long it takes to remove the bolt at the bottom of the stock DP flange. That is the PITA. I just used a chisle and tapped it loose from the front and turned it a quarter turn at a time untill you can get it with your fingers. A little WD40 or BreakFree would help alot on this part.

I will take a picture of mine when i take it back off today from the side like that.

cool sounds good, i just had my turubo replaced not even 500 miles ago so everything should be easy to remove. id rather do it the belt way also cause thats alot easier. i think im going to do mine sunday. Yea GHL is a nice business, very prompt, i had no doubts they wouldnt get it resolved quickly. im not worried about mine either but i also cant afford alot of downtime, so i want to compare mine and yours to see if i would have the same issue. thank for the all the input.

im just jelous that you got it on and off in a fraction of the time it took me to remove it

New one is installed and everything went great. sounds good. I have a system with no cat and no resonator. Just muffler. Its not extremely loud but its definetly a good strong tone. I have no rattles at all. Just had to do alot of adjusting before tightning the clamps. I also have kartboy hangers. IF ANYONE WOULD LIKE DIRECTIONS to install theirs without removing the turbo and mani, I will do a write up and post it in the howto section, Just PM me.

With a good 12mm Swivel 1/4" socket the manifold was easy as pie to take off. The socket is thin walled and PB blaster made easy work of it. I am telling you,I honestly can't believe you could to the job right and had access to the bolts on the S pipe. After doing there is no way any sort of swivel ratchet or crows foot socket could work. THat being said the fitment was perfect all the way back to the rear wheel where I think Goku is having the same issue as Vicola(sp). I think it just needs a suttle adjustment but we ran out of day light.

But seriously, and goku could confirm this. PB BLASTER IS TEH s***!!

I mean after sprayin that on and waiting about an hour the manifold had bolts that were HAND LOSE! I am buying stock in that company ASAP!

As for gains and sound, it was good stuff, but I will let Jon tell you all about that.

Well, with a 1/4in socket, 6 in extension and short swivel, I removed the oil line from the oilpan to the turbo. That gave me reach to the back bolt. With a chisle I tapped loose the middle bottom bolt on the flange and with PB blaster, i took it off by hand. It really really wasnt that hard at all. Just have to have the "right" tools. (if a chisle is considered the right tool) Seriously was 20 min or so before the downpipe was in my hand.

and the job was done right, wanna drive down here so I can give you some lessons? Why do some people just have to act arragant, because they couldnt do it? If you would like I could help someone else on the board install it and have them video tape it...
