Getting NEW ENGINE!!!

lol the engines r the same for 08 anyway u cant expect for them to reset ur warrantie everytime something brakes

I agree with that but this is a major issue not the norm. I still feel the warranty for the engine should start over but not the rest of what is on the powertrain warranty. All I can do is push for it and see what happens and hope this engine will be worry free. I am not sure if it is the new engine and turbo but she feels much better...alot more pep and response and no lag whatsoever!!! So far so good....1 day back. Maybe it's cuz I drove a 4 cyclinder Kia van for over a week but I don't know she feels great! Here's pics of engine bay....and my electric blue baby! (hi)

nice....glad it went smooth.....if they wont put a new warranty on it, then it makes sense for them to EXTEND the warranty.

only reason why i ask about what engine they put in (was it 100% new?) is because what, then, distinguishes the 08 model that runs on reg and the 07. this may have been answered in much earlier threads but im still curious

Go speak to the service advisor that helped you or the service manager. Tell them you want 1/4 tank of gas reimbursement and for them to fix the hood. They can't make you happy if you don't speak up.

Mikey...some good thoughts and questions I will be posing to Mazda!! I imagine it's cheaper for Mazda to just throw in a new engine than give me a new vehicle. I am definitely going to be writing to Mazda about the warranty!! Maybe I should have been tougher on them but I have just never experienced this. I feel in the least the dealer should have put a full tank of gas in the car(I had 3/4 in it I believe and a 1/2 tank was in there), washed and waxed it and I had to ask them to clean the inside....it was lame if they even did. I came home washed it and did a quick wax job since I felt some coarseness on the paint job mainly on the hood...waxing it did not help. Wonder if this happened as it sat at the dealer or just over the winter but my gut says at the dealer.....not sure what it is but it's not smooth to the touch. I never said boo to them in 17 days...not a complaint, a bit of anger ...nothing....I was a dream customer to them but somehow I feel they should have done more....maybe even got me a top notch car to drive....got crap cars from Enterprise...which are always dirty and lame. The service tech thanked me for my patience and that's it. Now I am just a bit disgruntled. I will ask what type of engine I got. Thanks for your input and concern Mikey!

I have been playing phone tag with the service manager. I have an '07 engine in it. Wish it was an '08...gas would be cheaper!! I am gonna chat with him about all the items.
