Getting a SRI...

...off of ebay. Yes, the cheapo ones. Dont convince me otherwise, i dont care lol!! ANy buyers that are particularly trustworthy and quick? Any bad ones i should look out for? I know there are a couple different cheapo SRI's on there, but they look the same. Is one better than the other? Just let me know who/what i should buy from and maybe some tips if you've got any for using ebay.

Make sure you check their feedback before placing any bids. and look at the shipping costs. Most of the time they're rediculous for some reason.

get a new filter. i loved my ebay cai, but the filter was crap.

You can always buy a CAI and just use the first part of the metal pipe, and use the maf housing to connect the filter to, that way you could convert back and forth if you choose to. Worked well for me.

whatever you do, buy a better filter than what comes with it.

K&N has been around for decades, so I trust their engineering over anyone else. I have had one in ever car i have ever owned. I have the ebay SRI with a K&N. 3 years, loving it.

I'll sell you my SRI ... it's never been used. I bought it off eBay too but I never put it on, and I have a Simota Twin-Charger on the way instead. I'll part with the SRI, send me a PM and I'll send you some pics tonight if you're interested.

Don't expect much of a performance gain either, it just makes your car sound mean as hell.

Thanks for the replies. A K&N will be slapped on in short time. That was always a part of the plan.

SO i guess since nobody really commented, there isnt any particular seller i should watch out for? And there is no "better" quality SRI of the couple that are floating around out there?

And dont worry, Im not expecting great quality. Im expecting it to hold its finish, and fit together well. Thats what i mean by "quality".

haha yeah thats what it did for me too. i thought my car was faster... either that or i just drove it faster. who knows? (glare) as long as you like it. i got the 1 dollar one that says its a cai, but its just a short ofcorse.
