GB: Mazdaspeed3 Mazdaspeed Cold Air Intakes

The exhaust was selling for approx. $450 at two different dealers. That is the UNINSTALLED price. So no, I could not have got an exhaust for that much.

Also, and more importantly, the exhaust only gives you about 4-7 more HP depending on what you read. That is a lot of money for such little gain.

Until Mazda makes a down pipe, the pipe from the turbo to the Cat is too small to make a Cat-back advantageous.

A Mazda dealer quoted you $450 for a Mazdaspeed CBE for a Mazdaspeed 3? Are you sure they had the right part number and that what they quoted wasn't for a regular 3? If so, then the group buy that is happening on another forum is not such a good deal at $560!!!

intake is really nice tho you can actually tell the difference between stock intake and this intake

Interested in CAI

i can do that price to either

If I live in Chicago, can I come and pick up the CAI myself instead of having it shipped? How much will I have to pay (tax/no tax)?

I am only off on Tuesday and Wednesday so I would like to buy one right away.

Thank you.

Wow, you're my hero! Unfortunately, I have to wait for my next two paychecks :(
I'll hit you up when I obtain the money. (thumb)

Yes...I am sure...that did not include installation though! I can still get it at that price if I want it.

Remember...if you read my earlier thread on this, I was quoted a price with 10% off. (Because of a mistake with the MS CAI I ordered.) Now, just to make sure I am not being clandestinely accused of being full of it..... I just called Heritage Mazda in Bel Air, Maryland and asked them to confirm.

I spoke with Eric, at 1-866-627-8412 (In Mazda parts obviously), Mazdaspeed 3 CBE - list is $729, they are offering discounted accessories currently and he just offered it to me (again) for $500. No 10% off this time. If you do the math...bam...about $450 for the original one I was going to purchase.

Need more proof?

no i don't need any proof i just don't see a dealer selling it to you below cost but if they will sell it to you for $450 i say buy it and even if you don't want it you can resale it and make some money.

True...I could buy some and resell them, but I really don't have the time for that. I would get one for myself, but the very minor increase in performance (5-7 HP estimated) isn't worth it to me.

Hi guys,

I bought my Mazdaspeed3 silver back on Jan 18 2007. I had a Mazda 3 SP5 in lava orange, and gave it in trade in for this one.
This is my daily driver car for work, and I was thinking on leaving it 100% stock, but my Mazdaspeed3 is screaming for the mazdaspeed intake, lol..

CAI in heavy rainfall

I just bought my CAI for MS3 (Thanks, Ken). In the installation paperwork it is stated that "All warrantees are null and void if water is ingested into the intake system". You are being warned that if you anticipate traversing deep water you should remove the CAI system. My only concern is driving on highway at high speeds during heavy rainfall. Any feedback on that?

come back any time, we're opening mid-April. i would say unless you drive your car into a lake there is little chance of water ingestion into the intake.

which one is better the cp-e intake or this intake? Or are they pretty much the same.
my opinion is that any differences are marginal between the two
