Gaz Mileage

That might ne possible, or perhaps you didnt fill the tank as full as when you started? I got 57 mpg on a 40 mile round trip once. I was flat out hypermiling though. Best tank average was around 49. Both of those are with 100% stock car and 40 psi in the tires. My usual average is 34-42 mpg depending on how I drive, summer/winter blend fuel, ethanol %, etc.

Just out of curiousity, what kind of gas mileage do you get with the geo metro?

OK...526.8 miles sipping ( no siphon) 9.85 gallons for 53.4 mpg. im not disappointed because it was not done under perfect conditions. included were some stop and go miles as well as some stop signs & traffic lights..my next test will be 99 percent highway at 3000rpm in high gear......as far as me being a slow-poke, my response to that is that I have to use viagra as a antidote to my libido...

I just rebuilt the whole engine, it was running on one cylinder when I bought it and it would barely move. My first tank was 35 mpg but that was giving it pure h*** to seat the rings and break the engine in. Also, it is the 3 speed automatic and it is pushing 4500 rpm at 60, so that KILLS the mileage. My torque converter is squealing, so I'm looking at a manual swap soon, plus an XFI cam, so I'm hoping for 50-60 mpg eventually.

In case anyone wanders why I need this car when I have the 2 and two other good vehicles- I get dirty at work, and I also have to drive down dusty and muddy dirt roads, so I bought it for $350 to drive to work so I can keep from ruining the 2.

Certainly not a highway machine. I saw what looked to be a completely unmolested CRX HF today in awesome shape....I think those were rated somewhere around 55 mpg. Unfortunately they usually fetch alot of money these days.

Sounds to me like what you need for work is an old subaru. Way more fun to get dirty...but nowhere near the mpg's.
