I was talking with Bob, and his wife the other day during fireworks and we decided it might be a good idea to see if anyone would want to goto Six Flags Great Adventure in New Jersey the first week of Aug. If we get enough people we maybe able to get some sort of group discount and i'll have to look into that. So what do you guys think???

Or Lake Compounce. Less lines, free soda, rides are just as good.

Great suggestion. I'd be on board for that. There is no way I'm driving to Jersey..

My schedules filling up for august already, july's owned, lol. Further out the easier it is for me.

september could work. I'll have to check my ticket stack to see if I have a mets game that day.

1st Wedding anniversary that weekend. I'll get shot if we're still in this state, lol

How about the weekend following? Or Before it. I also have the last weekend in August available still, lol

Six Flags in Jersey is horrible ... I live 15 minutes from it. The lines are long, and the quality of people that go there are lower than that gum you get stuck to the bottom of your shoe in the Garden State Parkway rest stop bathroom.

wow, that is nasty then! it used to be pretty good back in the 80's

I have heard similar stories about Riverside/Six Flags NE recently. The price is high and you wait in line all day.

I'm not up for driving to Jersey twice this summer and I'm already planning on going down there for a Northeast Car Audio meet. I might be up for Siz Flags NE if you pick the right weekend. Make sure it doesn't conflict with anything on the NEPOC calendar (it is stickied in the NEPOC section).

I've experienced that at both regional Six Flags which is why I mentioned Lake Compounce. No one goes there because it's not a chain park like the Six Flags ones are. Factor in the free soda, the hella good water park, decent food (beer served as well!!), and similiar amounts of rides (they have a mountain side coaster that kicks ass) and it's pretty much no contest. Oh yeah, it's cheaper too.

That and I'd rather shoot myself than drive to Jersey again

Imagine what its like to live here. Actually, I live in the better part of Jersey, except during summer with all the NYC trash clogging my roads and trashing my beach.

Anyway, the Jersey Great Adventure really is dirty, lines are huge, only 1/2 of the rides work on any given day, and the quality of people are really lower class. I went to Busch Gardens in Williamsburg, VA, then the next week went to Six Flags. Luckily, my friends still work there, so I go for free, and thats the only way I will ever go again.

But, if you do choose to go, let the NJ forum know and make the best out of it.
