I have noticed this and it is pretty irritating, it is that when ever i decide to floor the car(VERY often) the A/C feels like its cutting out and i get this musty stale smell from the fan vents (notcool), then after it kicks back on and all is good, until i stop and floor it, then it happens again, I WILL have this addressed at the 7,500 K maintenance, along with the Reflash. The A/C does have a problem keeping up in hot climates. Also I have never noticed a difference in MPG with the air conditioning on or off in any of the cars I have driven. Heres my MPG report (mostly city/aggressive driving)

Mobil-15
Shell-17
Chevron-16-17
Valero-15

All cars (or at least most) turn off the A/C when you floor it. When you put it to the floor you are asking for the most power available and the A/C takes a lot of power.

I have noticed on a couple cars that when the A/C turns off there is a musty smell. I guess you could have them check it out but I bet they say it's normal.

I know I don't have a CX-7, but it's basically the same engine, I've had my speed6 for 2 weeks, and am about to fill up my 3rd time. the first time the dealer "filled" me up i got 312 miles and was halfway from 1/4 to E....with pretty much aggressive driving in my speed6... i filled up with premium and reset my trip odometer and when I filled up again at around the same needle indication I had 245 miles on it, with slightly LESS aggressive driving this time...... at first I thought maybe the dealer put Regular gas in my car, but that wouldn't make sense..... so I just wanted to ask.

no one here (with the 2.3 DISI turbo engine) puts regular in their car right?

(oh and I filled up at Chevron).

2600 miles on the ODO. Just took a trip where I was stuck going 50 MPH for most of the way, because I was following my roomate on his Temp spare.

Got 20 MPG. Still very dissapointing.

The A/C compressor in my Volvo Nevvver ever turned off, even when I kickedown. Whats different?

More thought put toward maximizing power output maybe? A/C compressors suck a bunch of power when running and we are talking about a car company who focuses on "Zoom-Zoom" here. (drive2)

my butthole hurts just from reading that........

I pay $3.13 for premium here :D

$3.69 is about average here.

Mazda should come out with a stylish hybrid that would bring sales up for the company. I am very happy having a mazda 1st company I have come across that really shows good customer service, they take care of their customers.

Hybrids are a joke currently. They won't save you any money, even in the long run, and they're actually worse on the environment then a freaking hummer H1! I think it's funny that "greenies" think they're saving the planet with them. (lol2)

About the only thing a hybrid is good for is performance and I'm betting you'll start seeing more performance oriented hybrids soon.
