Gas mileage log (Excel)

Update 2, 16:00 GMT:
Have fixed the formulas and added "total $ spent" and "average MPG".
The sheet has more fake numbers in it now (for you to erase), but I needed them there to make sure the formulas work, and it will show you a little more what it is.

Update:
I have an error in one of the column formulas... (Column "I")
Will post an updated spread sheet later today. Sorry, but things happen when you don't proofread things properly.

I have always had a weak spot for Excel spreadsheets. I do not consider myself a "guru"; being an engineer, I just love to tinker with numbers and see what I can get from them. I used to have a spread sheet like this for my Gen-I Saab 9-3 5D hatch (which I bought when the Mazda 626 hatch was no longer available here in the US - bummer, and my -91 626 was giving up on me).
Graphing the resulting numbers, I could see how the mileage differed between seasons, not for the cold weather only, but the reformulation of the fuel... as another example, I could also see how my driving habits had some (ahem...) influence on gas mileage as well.
=================
Enough history, get to the point!
Right. I set up a similar spreadsheet now for my CX-50 Hybrid. I have attached it for anyone to use - it is pretty straight forward.
NOTE: The spreadsheet is protected - but only so you don't write in the cells where there are formulas. THERE IS NO PASSWORD, you can unprotect it and have full access to all cells, if you want to tweak it, add columns or whatever for personal additions (or go all metric!).

I have filled out a couple of lines, so you can see how it works.
The first line is the fuel and odometer (where you will be starting your own logging, the row will not give you gas mileage or any other information, it is your "anchor point").
The second line (actually line three in the spreadsheet) is where your "real data" will start to go, all in the yellow fields:
* <TAB> or <RIGHT ARROW> key will jump you to the next fillable field - <ENTER> will move you down in the column (you don't want that)
* Enter date of fill up - month/day/year - if you are entering dates other than 2025... if 2025: just month/day (days between fill ups will be calculated)
* Enter number of gallons of gas
* Enter total $ amount for the gas
* Enter current odometer reading
The rest will be calculated for you.
You will have to add a graph yourself to better see trends of the gas-mileage - I did not include that on purpose, because personal taste differs on what parameters people want to see.

If you find it useful, feel free to send it to whoever might be interested. All I ask is that you credit me for it...
Foot note: Oh, the "liter per mil" (column "J") is for the Swede in me... it presents gas consumption in liters per 10 km. All metric people out there may appreciate that and get ideas for how to adjust the rest of the formulas for their countries.

Happy motoring!
/Lars
