Gas mileage is still good.

Recently, I have been recording the miles driven and the gallons of gas in order to see what my 2003 Protege 5 is getting in gas mileage these days. Very rarely do I drive on the highway, most of the miles are city. So, I am getting between 18 and 20 miles per gallon with the widows up and the the air conditioning on, due to the subtropical climate. I am still impressed and happy with by my vehicle after all these years.​

i have checked mine the last 2 weeks and i have a 70% highway and i have gotten 28.57 the last 2 fill ups. im an automatic as well

5 speed and I was getting on average about 29.5mpg. Then in the last month it dropped to 24-25 . . . right before the check engine light came on to tell me the O2 sensor was shot. Problem solved!

Sideline. do you guys run 87 or 89 octane ?

Over 70K miles on my P5 and I get 29-30 in the city. Just got 37 MPG on my last tank that was all Interstate - rock on!!!
