Future/New Owner, New User, New Colors

I've been deployed in Iraq since February. I sold my car right before I left knowing I'd have to get something for my return. There are some pretty good programs for service members to purchase vehicles online through the Post/ Base Exchange stores.

After a lot of research, I ordered a Sunlight Silver MS3 GT a few months ago. Last week, the online dealer put the order in so that it would get delivered just as I get home in April. Turns out I'm getting a 2008.5 model with the cool new interior changes (alcantara, all black, etc.), and Mazda kicked-back the order to him because I had to choose a different color. I found this forum while searching for pics of a Metropolitan Gray Mica MS3. I've seen photos of white cars, and as cool as it looks in white, I decided on the MGM sight unseen. Much of that influenced by the fact that white seems more popular and I just had to be different.

I can only find photos of a Mazda 2 with the color. I saw Automobile's photos, but I'm pretty sure that car was black (I could be mistaken). I was wondering if anyone has photos of a MS3 in the Metropolitan Gray Mica. The thread started back in October when these changes for 2008.5 were announced doesn't have photos that I know of...

By the way, I probably won't be much of a regular on these forums. However, I'll say I definitely enjoy lurking and looking at some of the cool mods people have. Modding isn't exactly my thing (maybe some wheels in the future), but I really enjoy the photos.

I couldn't find pics of the ms3 on MGM color, but I found a pic of the new Mazda 2 in MGM. Quick question, How good is the program for deployed Soldiers? I went to iraq on 05/06 rotation and I already have a ms3. Just want to know what I missed.

I got mine from militaryautosource.com . They also sell Audi, VW, Victory Motorcycles, Nissan and Infiniti (and maybe Honda?). I saved about $800 on a GT, but I'll still have state taxes to deal with. Not a huge discount of course, but if I was buying something like a regular 3 I probably could have saved more. Since the MS3 is a hotter item, I couldn't talk the guy down that much. However, I did hit the USAA "Target Price" that their car buying tool provides. So I got that going for me, which is nice.

There are Volvo miltary programs, BMW, Saab, etc. through various companies. A lot of the advertisements are in Stars & Stripes.

On a different note: this is only my first deployment, but I can tell you things got a whole lot better than when we first arrived in Feb. A lot of blood, sweat, and tears though.

Yeah, I know what you mean.

SikwiditMZ3, that is not the new mgm color. Those are the black mica that look different because of the picture, but is pretty close.

That Sport Compact Car article is pre-production. It does say that vehicle is "dark gray" but didn't give a specific color. I'm gonna guess that looks pretty close to MGM.
