i saw this yellow car with really cool graphics you should put them on... see picELEmental59437 said:I personally got a CF hood because my stock one got ****** up in my wreck, and for less than the cost of replacing it I could get a visual upgrade. I personally love the CF hood, and the only other parts I would consider getting in CF is the rear valance, and thats really iffy. I have the radio side strips in CF too, but that was because I repainted my bezel when I molded in the screen and wanted to cover up the scratched fake CF from the factory.

pretty sure in my post i said "from experience" meaning i know for a fact weight makes a huge difference, for instance when i raced a few friends cars and it was a close race, then i gutted s*** out of the car, wasn't so close anymore!, understand??1sty said:I smell a challenge.
I guarentee you if you go to the track with a friend with a similar car and have a 3rd friend add 100 pounds 5 times to each of your cars, but at random so you don't know if its present or not, you will see no definitive difference in 1/4 times between being weighted and unweighted. It would also be interesting to have you guys guess if the weight was present or not.
That's why I'm just getting my hood painted, but I guess that nulls the "professional paint". Obviously my hood fits, but it rattles for some reason, so I guess that means it's not perfect.1sty said:Single most retarded modification next to APC tail lights. It serves no practicle purpose other then to waste money. I love how people can't wait to buy CHEAPER parts for there car. An OEM hood from mazda that has been professionaly painted will cost almost $1K, yet people can't LOVE to swap it out for a useless piece of s*** carbon fiber hood that doesn't even fit aswell for $500.
Another example of this redicoulus need to upgrade is the people with STi's that swap out the factory equipt $700/apeice forged wheel for some cheap cast 18" junk $300/apeice wheel.
Maybe its just me but I think people should UPGRADE not down grade. Carbon fiber mods would be like me swapping out the factory speakers with the 2" drivers from computer speakers AND ACTUALY PAYING FOR IT!
Why on earth does anyone scrap a perfectly good $1000 hood for a cheap $500 paper weight?
I hate you all.
Carbon fiber = teh gehy
Adjust the stoppers up so it holds it a little tighter.Black Majik MSP said:That's why I'm just getting my hood painted, but I guess that nulls the "professional paint". Obviously my hood fits, but it rattles for some reason, so I guess that means it's not perfect.
Make several runs at a track, then add 100 pound of sand bags, then do a few more runs. Post slips, I am interested to see the results.mp5jeff said:remember the video of me vs my roomates srt-4? remember it was close races, ya that was with FULL interior, everything, then i removed it all, ac/ps, lightweight rims with the dr's, etc... and i pulled busses on him....that is PROOF enough no?
All I know is that Jeff's P5 is like 2400lbs & it's hella fast & getting faster all the time.1sty said:Make several runs at a track, then add 100 pound of sand bags, then do a few more runs. Post slips, I am interested to see the results.
THANK YOU, glad someone has my backmp5jeff said:cf, not my thing, don't really care if someone has it either...but imo it should replace stock parts for the weight reduction, and for people saying 100lbs won't make a difference, you must not know much about drag racing because 100lbs makes a BIG difference...i know from experience, every time i took out alot of weight from the car(did it in steps) you could DEFINATELY tell the difference not only in my head but at the track it was proved also, and when someone would ride in my car it felt alot more slugish...which is probably the reason i removed the passenger seat too lol
