Full Moon Fun Run - July 18, 2008

and your still kickin right lol?

i remember back during organic chemistry, i had like 9 hours of sleep over a weekend as i was trying to finish off a problem set lol.

Haha, true story. Oh well, getting back on the subject though, the moonlight drive is something I wouldn't want to do very often, maybe 1-2 a year at best. July makes sense to do it, since animals aren't really in that whole 'jump in front of your car' mood quite yet, and the weather is almost always good enough at night to pull off.

And on that note, when's the next 'official' drive? Mid Sept?

I think the fun runs should be more regular though. Seems like everyone gets so pent up to go..... I think we should do a monthly meet/fun run.

And during the winter months a rally fun run! oh wait we dont have subies.

I think the frequency weve been doing is pretty good if we can keep it up. Tons of people always sign up then dont go, we had half the people from the list show up friday.

I like the idea of a monthly 'event', not necessarily a fun run. The night at the cruise/Snooker's was a good time, as well as the Baker's meet. Doing the runs every 6 weeks or so is a good compromise between running and saving some money for gas. It cost me $110 to fill up for the drive and following it, and I know I can't keep doing that right now.

Let's take this to a new thread and see what responses we can get.

I agree with a monthly meet at least even if we only do the run every 6 weeks or so, thats a good idea. I'm at bakers every week so if people want to head out there that could be a cool event. There was hardly anyone there last sunday, I didnt get there until 4pm but I left by 430 because it was a poor turnout.

Damn I did 300+ miles this weekend and put in around $80 of gas. I dont want to afford that all the time either.

$110, geesh, glad I didnt get that Speed6. Whatever we decide and can do, it is the get out of jail free for me. LOL...

I think the other part was driving all the way out and back, whereas you guys are much closer. It was 40 mi round trip to the lady's house, then driving to Ann Arbor after as well that did me in. Plus, I was on a quarter tank when I filled up both times, so it was two $55 fillups at $4.12 /gal.

Friday night ended up being about 180 miles for me. I filled up Friday before the run at 4.25/gal and saturday before my 130mile round trip to lansing at 4.45 a gallon, I hate gas prices. You did do a lot of driving that night, no wonder you didnt get back until 630.

Bill needs as many events and runs as possible as an escape, hed probably do something daily if he could get away with it.

Lol. I put 320 miles on the tank and got 25.2 mpg on Friday night...not complaining one bit. I got back to Christine's after Denny's and was almost falling asleep at the wheel, so I took a quick nap on her couch so I could drive home safely. Some **** in a Contour tried running with me on M-5, but I quickly put him in his place.

Haha damn I averaged 23.8 mpg over the 180 miles from the run and I was happy with that being "city" driving. Good call on the nap, I've done some stupid driving when I was falling asleep twice last summer driving straight through from naples and panama city, dumb idea. You will notice that every time no matter what time of the day someone will always want to run on M5, its hard to not want to put them in their places.

Damn, only 23.8? I figured you'd get closer to 25 or so. Did you notice a difference in your mileage with the intake on it?

Yeah, when it comes to driving, I'm not gonna put myself (or anyone else) at risk. It's just not worth it. I didn't really have anywhere to be, so it made sense to be safe about it.

That was my first fill up with the sri on I'll need a couple weeks to notice any change, I only drive 15miles a day so I usually get 20-21mpg so that was better than before... I may need to lay off the throttle for my short daily trip. People drive so retarded on the freeways now, I fly past people when I'm doing 70 and then theres people that want to do 90 so theres almost a 30mph difference out there which is never good.
