FUel pump or regulator?

My 2005 6 with a 4cyl, has started acting up. The last few weeks, after sitting, it has to crank for like 15 seconds. After that, it runs perfect. If I turn it off, and walk in a store and back, it does the same thing. But the first time in the morning, it starts fine. Just after it is warmed up.

When it acts up, i turn the key, hear the pump hum, then turn it off and repeat about 5 times. It has a hollow sound, then I hear it firm up. SO its loosing pressure, and taking a few turns to build back up. And then it starts fine. So wondering if the pump might be bad, or a regulator is letting the pressure bleed back to the tank? Or something else? Thanks, Dennis

Possible its either or.. You need to do some kinda test on them I think you will have to take it in

I have a pressure test kit, but not sure what the specs are? Anyone know what pressure should be and how much it should build to and hold while car is off and such? THanks

I dont know because I dont have the manual.. You need to buy the chilton guide or the factory manual for your car.. That helps out so much
