Hey All,

I will hopefully be attempting to put in a fuel pressure gauge this weekend along with my Defi Boost and A/F guages. I am just a little foggy on what exactly I need to do to put the Fuel Pressure gauge in.

Has anyone installed one or can you provide pictures of the line I need to tap into or replace with the proper fittings for holding the gauge sensor?

Thanks for the help and any advice you can offer regarding the fuel pressure gauge.

The directions just show the Fuel Pressure sensor with the 1/8PT and 1/8NPT Adapters.

i have one installed. you want the sending unit installed in the hose BEFORE the stock fuel pressure regulator. think of it like this ( fuel tank > fuel pump > gauge sending unit > fuel rail > stock pressure regulator > return line )

Excellent, any pics of your install? I am sure I could find the fuel line if I tried to look for it, but I haven't spent enough time poking around to be familar with where it is.

whoa thats gonna takea while... assuming u dont screw up anything else :D

well, I am good at following directions, I just need the directions to be clear... that's why I was looking for as much info as I can get about putting this in a protege so I know what I am doing before I start.

Look at the install directions for the Flyin' Protege turbo kit. It shows you wher the fuel line come out of from the fire wall, and goes up to the fuel rail.

That'll give you an idea of where to cut the line.

Cool thanks for the tips. I think I have got a pretty good idea of where it is and where to splice it now.

Wish me luck tomorrow or if anyone has anything else to add I am all ears.

I don't know, I just know what I have been told, and I have been told it's a pain in the ass compared to the boost and A/F gauges.

I found this page which helps out too:

its a freakin breeze compared to those gauges :)

there is a black 5/16 fuel line coming from the firewall going into the driver's side of the back of the engine, into the fuel system. I'll try and snap a photo later. Cut the line (gas will probably spill forth), insert the sending unit and wire it up to the gauge. it's not really hard at all.

yeah, it was way easier then expected. I got the sending unit in. It's actually about 3 inches from the inlet to the fuel rail. I hope that's okay? I put it there for easy access. but if it doesn't work out I guess I can go buy fuel line and replace the whole run later.

I actually just noticed that you said the line was 5/16. I actually purchased 1/4 barbed fittings. It looks like there aren't any leaks, I got things nice and tight, is this gonna be problem?

I'll try and snap a photo later.
Please do...! I'm in the same situation as jrodhotrod but didn't know for sure which was the fuel line when I looked (though I didn't look too hard, it was cold outside and kinda dark). It'd be good for future ref as well...
cheers.
