Fuel injector cleaner

Ok, so i was complaining about bad gas mileage. Changed my spark plugs, didnt go crap. Went to discount auto parts, bought gumout fuel injector cleaner and got 350 miles before the lite went on, and 375 before i filled up with the cleaner in the tank. I am hopeing it stays like that. 28.5 mpg!!! And i drove pretty bad with the justification the faster i burn the gas, the faster i will clean my fuel system. I also changed from that crappy gas, to chevron on that tank. All i can say is its great. Just one more reason why i love my P5!! (yippy)

I can't seem to break 310 on Kroger Gas..hmm, maybe because I am always the car to hit the speed limit first from a stoplight.

I consistently get around 30 mpg, that's long distance and city mixed driving. Straight city I've been doing around 27.

BTW, the P5 manual specifically says not to put any fuel additives into the fuel tank. So you've just sinned, boy!

I drive somewhat agressive, and have been averaging around 320-330 miles per tankful before the little indicator comes on. I was hoping for better mileage than this, but it is still a vast improvement over the mileage I used to get from my Exploder - and a lot more fun to drive, not to mention safer.

A couple of weeks ago, I filled up with Exxon/Mobil and for the first time, hit 30mpg on a tank. The next tank, I went back to Philips 66 and fuel economy dropped. This last tank, we switched back to Exxon/Mobil and are currently at 330 mile with a 1/4 tank left.

Too bad the Exxon/Mobil station is 15 miles out of the way, in some little town. I was shocked that the gas alone made that big of a difference.

I get less than 300pt when i constantly gun it. When i go on highway, i can end up to about 380. It's all about how you drive.

its not all about how u drive. And i would fill up at mobil but there is literally like a 15 cent difference between that and the cheap gas. .15 X13 (gallons)=1.95, enuf for another gallon (a lil less). that like an extra 25 miles per tank. So if i spend more money on the gas to get 25 miles extra or spend less and get 25 miles less it turns out the same

um, i think its both since i use the same station whenever I am home to pump gas since i got my car and it varies depending on whether or not i constantly have it pedal to the metal or if i'm just cruising. I like using shell or texaco, i seem to get better milleage with them than say 7-11 or bp.

Interesting results people. From my personal experience I have found Amoco to be the best gas with regards to power and smooth running, but I never tried a mileage comparison between them.

My tests were based on my Ford exploder, and my moded MR2 turbo. The exploder pings insanely on anything less than premium (its going away in a month or so - yoohoo!), and even on some of the premium fuels. But on Amoco premium it never pings. The MR2 is running 15psi boost, with a chip, GReddy intercooler, custom downpipe, mid pipe, and GReddy exhaust (no cats), Jacobs pro ignition, K&N FIPK, etc. On less than Amoco premium it tends to loose some power, which I believe is caused by the knock sensor retarding timing. It also feels more responsive on Amoco.

I've only had my P5 for 3 or 4 tank fulls so I have no base data to provide yet. But I'm pretty sticking with Amoco when available.

When Amoco is not available I usually try to find either Chevron or Mobil. I avoid Shell at all costs, neither of my cars seems to like it at all.

Like I've been saying from day one people, Chevron is the best evar. I love Mobil though. And BP of course. But Chevrons still the best
