OK i made 5 different sized rings that are being overnighted to FORZWIN. he has two clusters and the time to check them so hopefully ill have new offsets to use with the tooling and everyone can get the correct size ring. i dont know when the revised ones will ship but at least i should be able to run them.

Sounds great!@

that's it. there's a video on youtube from the original sets if you need it. for people who have not tested if theirs will stay in, please do so and post your results.

Thats cool, I am willing to wait for the revised set. No rush here.

(cool)

the sides are fine but the 2 center rings I have do not fit. They will not press on like the sides, apears to be to big to press on all the way and fully seat. I have the MP3 cluster.

so just another set of thoughts on things...

i understand some people have had issues with the lip sticking above the bezel a little more than they would like. its a little more than i would like as well, but the dimensions were taken from the originals. i always thought mine fit my cluster the same as the originals, but, today i remembered... back during my first couple of sets i took a video to compare them in the event i needed it to help them sell (obviously wasnt the case)

so, thats attached (edited for brevity). the first one is the original, the second is mine. you can see that the original is not flush in my cluster either.
everyone whos held both the originals and these say theyre exactly the same. look the same, fit the same... everything. someone pointed out one small difference which was corrected in later sets, but no one else noticed it or mentioned it.
so, i think the slightly elevated height is something that was in the originals as well. if theyre falling out something is wrong, but i think they just need to be a hare bigger.
i will keep looking into the issue since im committed to distributing quality products, but this is just an observation i thought i would share with everyone.

so to summarize, i dont think that the large one will fit as flush as the small ones just because the ones i dimensioned from were the same way. i still think that if yours isnt staying in the cluster then you either need to push harder or i need to send out slightly larger rings (mattV's was larger, for instance). i tried to pick a size that wouldnt scratch the s*** out of your bezel, but it looks like its got to step up a size or two.

bad news for everyone... the girlfriend laid the ultimatum down and said "its me or the shop/car/forums", and unfortunately for you guys im going with her - and im not going to the shop to finish these and test her.

im going to do what i can to get the shop TA to finish my outstanding orders and replacement big rings once i hear back from FORZWIN. if the TA is unwilling, unable to, or otherwise cant get 'er done, refunds will be issued to parties with outstanding orders at that point. if he is able to do it, the timeframe is wide open, but hopefully everyone will get what they need.

the biggest disappointment of the whole thing is i didnt even get a set for me...(sad2)

Carl and his lip spoiler. I do agree that is will be bad azz one day... I did the tap test and did not stay in mine at all, I may be able to test it out on a MSP this weekend to see if any differences exist. I can get you a video if need be.

so some good news - the shop TA said he would finish up with outstanding orders.
some mediocre news - FORZWIN got the rings and the results werent what i expected... he said the one that fit best was the one i thought i was shipping everyone. so im not sure who got what ring and what happened. more than likely, it was an issue with calibrating the machine. im still skeptical that it affected all the rings, (im thinking it was limited to one run of stock) but i will be increasing the size as an extra precaution.
and some bad news - as i expected, the lip of the rings wont sit "as flush" against the cluster as the smaller ones. it could have been an issue with the ones i was dimensioning, a design error... i dont know. also, i still have yet to determine the timeframe for when people will get their outstanding sets, and how processing possible exchanges with the large rings will work.

but at least thats an update...

Thanks for all of your effort in trying to make this right. It was a nice gesture to have you send me several rings for testing. At least we learned that I wasn't a complete nut and there was a size difference :). For what it's worth, I feel you offer great customer service, that's tough to find these days.

^This.

I'm satisfied with your efforts yudkib. Just let us know what we need to do. ;)

Ok tested both center rings (both sets) with my cluster and forget the tap test they do not pass the flip test. So prdracing and 323 stopped by today and tested it on a MSP cluster and got the exact same results. The only way we could figure to get them to stay would be glue. Awaiting update.

yes and if I wanted glue in ones I would have ordered the cheap ass ones that SU had. I like high quality products...

Brian that was not directed towards you, just supporting your level of customer service and the overall quality you go for. Let me know if you need anything. I got one set polished up perfectly;)
