Frozen Washer Fluid

I just bought my 2000 protege with 100k miles. The windshield wiper fluid does not come out, can I assume that it is just frozen (I am in Chicago and it is damn cold right now)? Thanks for your input!

most washer fluids are mixed with alcohol so as to NOT freeze.

question... when you use the window washer, do you hear the motor "noise" or nothing at all?

it seems that its semi-common for the window washer pumps to die on proteges... mines out of commision ATM.

Could be a kink in the line too, or a dead motor. You may have to take your front bumper off to make sure the plug on the motor is connected.

i had the same problem a month ago when it got cold up here and my car sat for a couple weeks. i was sure it was frozen summer fluid. the fluid in the resevoir(sp) was not frozen though and i was able to use the hatch washer nozzle . i had to jack up the car, take the passenger wheel and trim off. what happend was either dirt or ice was jammed it the pump. pump worked, just wouldn't shoot anything out till i stuck a needle to break up the blockage.

thread jack alert. so hows the turbo working for you falango. wish you had it on for the bc mazda meet in the summer so i can check it out. might have to meet up this spring.summer to compare turbo kits. i should be thumping my thumper kit by then

It's goin good now, yet it still doesn't like the cold weather. Running much better after the tune, but the tranny doesn't like it, lol.

going good

thanks for the help. It was actually frozen, must of had the cheapest, crappiest fluid made put in..
