Friday Night Lights

As this gets closer, I think a premeet is in order. That way we can arrive together and more importantly park together. So someone who knows the area pick a good place to meet up. Let's get a list started as well.

1. Solidtrance, (Caleb)

Actually... If we have a pre-meet, say, around 6 or so, I'd go. It's just not worth the hour+ of driving for only 2 hours of meet.

I know the area real well. It's about 5 minutes away from my old house. There is actually a huge parking lot by Best Buy minutes from the meeting place for Friday night lights. If you get off at Lake street from 290/355 and head East for 1 block to Rhowling and take a right, the Best Buy is on the right. Denny's is there too if anyone needs to eat. This is probably less then 5 minutes away from the FNL meeting place.

1038 N Rohlwing Rd
Lake Addison Plaza
Addison, IL 60101

I work down in the city- so anything that would prevent me from having to drive home and immediately back down to the meet would be great. Where would we want to do this "pre-meet"? Dinner someplace?

I suggest Wolfy's @ 6pm

It's at Peterson and California.

Edit:

In retrospect, I didn't realize what a bad drive it is from here to Addison. Probably better to meet somewhere closer as the gentlemen above suggested.

For the northern crew what about meeting near the intersection of Lake Cook RD and 53. That looks like it will be better on trafic.

Would not be great for you Justin....Not sure if there is a good solution that works from downtown and this area. Ill keep looking.

eh, I will likely just trudge straight there after work. If I get done at 5 it'll take me till 645 to get out there anyway.

But we should find somewhere more interesting than a Denny's for dinner.

agree about finding somewhere to eat. I have a feeling this night will get late fast.

Here are some palces that are near the Lake Cook/53 intersection;

Vince's Italian Restaurant - 0.43 miles away
2365 N Hicks Rd, Palatine, IL
847-991-7770

Joe's Pizzeria - 0.68 miles away
2070 N Rand Rd, Palatine, IL
847-202-8200

Arenella Ristorante - 0.72 miles away
2001 N Rand Rd, Palatine, IL
847-221-2663

Original Tacos - 0.78 miles away
1856 N Rand Rd, Palatine, IL
847-359-5878

Culver's - 0.86 miles away
1765 N Rand Rd, Palatine, IL
847-705-6666

Any of these would work for me.

Might I suggest something close to the meet? Within 10 minutes persay, so you don't have to deal with traffic on the way there, possibly missing the start (not that that's really that big a deal). I would go if we met somewhere within 10 minutes of the meet. Driving an aditional half hour or so up to Palatine wouldn't make sense for me.

Sure, find a place and see who wants to meet there. My suggestion is mainly for the folks that live up here in the northern burbs. as the night gets later, the trafic gets better for us. Still planning on being there for the start, but would rather be eating 6:00-7:00 when the trafic is at its worst. That way we would get there 7-7:30 ish. I know this is not convenient for everyone, just looking for a solution that works for us northern folks. Of course all are invited for what ever we end up working out. If I lived close to this place I would wait until the last possible min to go, eat at my house for free and beat all the traffic.

I dunno of any places there... I would meet up at around 6 though in a place that is 10 minutes away or less of the actuall meet (without using highways). There seems to be a lot of stuff on either RT 53 or 20.

Hell... why don't we just meet at the hotdog place where the meet will be and set up camp then get some dogs?

By entering Restaurant on google maps in the meet's vicinity, I got this:

Lotsa food.

I'll probably go to this I got nothing to do that night. I'll probably meet you guys there since there is no reason for me to go out of my way since I only live about 15 to 20mins from there.

There is a lot of places up and down 20 right there. That's why I was thinking of the Best Buy parking lot maybe 15 minutes before the meet so everyone could do their own thing in the vicinity first. We are still going to have 2 hours or so to bs at FNL before the cruise. I imagine people coming from farther out won't be able to make it earlier anyways.

Their is a Culver's right at the corner a block away, so y not meet there(Butter Burger :D).

I will be at Culver's with my son's around 630-700pm, got to feed the boys b4 the drive.
