xtra injectors from MPNick is the way to go with the MPI. One of the highest whp Mazdaspeeds was done with stock injectors in the rail and xtra injectors before the throttle body. Or if you have more money, do 4 xtra injectors in the IM. Either way, leaving the stock injectors in will allow the car to run IDENTICAL to stock outside of boost. Then the xtra injectors provides the extra fuel needed as well as it helps to cool the charge air too.

I have passed emissions in MD and AZ with ZERO issues and with flying colors with ABSOLUTLY NO specific tuning. All because it runs as efficient as stock outside of boost.
 
so just contact nick and go for the four injectors? I think i can do that though not before the tax return or a few more checks to come in to save up for depending on the cost and skill needed to install them but as far as emissions I have 07 alaska plates in new mexico and if that wasn't good enough not having to care about emission from the cold state is the fact that this state doesn't even have emission laws just register and drive off without a care. I'm loving this
 
went lookin and found prices of injectors will be getting them once 1.) i get more info 2.) get paid and pay off bills for that week 3.) maybe a picture of the kit.
 
Travis- You'll be fine with just 2 injectors in the charge pipe next to the throttle body (like mine). If you want to run 4 extra injectors, then I suggest that you pick up a spare intake manifold, and send it off to have the work done. There is seriously nobody around here that will do that for you.

Also, if you register here in Albuquerque you have to do the emissions testing... everywhere else in the state you don't. That's the reason I still have mine registered up in los alamos, haha.

You need to come up here soon and check out my setup... I will go over the mpi stuff with you and show you what the changes do.
 
i understand why people where telling me that theres no emmissions here just didn't get the full story. I will be doing the two extra injectors just to have some room would dare do the four extra i was considereing upgrading the stock ones. I'll try to head that way once i get all my parts and have the days off to make a trip that way. Just waiting on my parts
 
If you're not built and don't plan on running crazy boost, go with the 2 xtra injector setup from Nick. They will be more then enough for what you need. He has the injectors there and will include it all with the setup, so no need to buy any. If you do buy some, you will have to send them to him so he can make the setup for those injectors, but I sya just let him do it all. 2 xtra injectors is enough to get you well over 300whp on a stock fuel system.
 
I refuse to loose another engine to BS so if i can get it to 300hp at the FLY or just have it running like a champ at anywhere from 7psi-9psi no more than that cuz money don't grow on trees and neither do engines. thanks for the advise in any case and when i get the money i will get them and plan to stay within my limits. Just hope i get my kit before the end of the year so things can go smoothly. My wife and friends say i won't get it till I turn 99, very depressing
 
my kit came with mpi when i bought it in o4 just need a good pay check so i'm gonna have to miss the deal

So you don't have your kit yet and it was supposed to come with an MPI? You might want to check on that because Nick quit using outside vendors to sell his MPI. So the only way you will get an MPI now is through Nick. That is unless Beau already has one set left over for ya. If he doesn't, I'm sure he will discount the price and/or refund that amount and you can get it straight from Nick.

Wicked----So what's the update with your situation? Have you added big numbers to your injection tab yet, like 100's? Can we get another datalog to see what's doin?
 
The story (short version)

I bought my SS kit & fuel stage 3 kit in June 04 when it was still coming with the log style Mani and came with the mpi. I sent it to my folks in Texas cause i was deployed to Iraq and wouldn't want it to be sent to Alaska, had no leave and wanted to put it together as a nice father son project. So didn't see it till may 05 found that it was without a lot of parts talked to beau found he had bad help I sent the kits with MPI back to him in Aug 05 to replace parts Last i talked to beau he was waiting on a few parts and because of that I'm still waiting on the kit and pretty much getting more depressed and trying not to talk about it do to the every one not believing me because i been saying I'm getting my kit in such and such days and still no kit i want to get mad and just sale my car but as much as i have put into it i would be at a lost money wise and hard work would have gone for nothing. i trust beau and that's why even without the kit in hand I'm buying the things needed to get my car ready for the kit. At this point I just feel sick about not having what i been wanting and waiting for and can't even bring my self to talk about it anymore. All i know is that when i do get it I'll be more than happy but talk about a drain on your day.

Does anyone have a map for a smic, hardpipes and a 2.5 catted mid pipe? Im interested in buying an mpi and a map for my setup would help me alot.

There are more then a few maps for your set up. Please keep in mind that this is not the Unichip or the DSM set. Unlike them you have complete control and you can fine tune the MPI to work 100% with your car.
 
What Nick said!!! You can get a BASE map from someone but you will have to tune it to get the best tune for your application. No 2 cars will run the same on the same map, you may get a map that was tuned from a different climate/altitude and thus would not react the same in your car.

You can use anyone's map to start with, but it's HIGHLY recommend you tune it yourself. The car will still drive, but you may need more or less fuel then what that map would have. It's not that hard to tune and when you do have it tuned right, you will definatly notice the differnce of have a tuned car versus a non tuned one. AND when/if you upgrade, you can retune yourself for free!

Also, I believe I have posted a map similar to what people were paying for and also a map that I tuned. So you can see the difference between and "OK" tune and a vehicle specific tune. It doesn't really matter what mods you have with this since YOU have control of the tune.

I took the drivers side fuel line and cut where it would hit the beginning of the xtra injector rail. I hooked that end up at the beginning and just used another piece to go from the other end of the xtra rail to the stock fuel rail. REAL simple, just make sure you use fuel injection clamps!!!! If you have a fuel pressure gauge, I put my sensor inbetween the output of the xtra rail and the input of the stock rail.

drivers side fuel line------>xtra injector input----->through xtra rail----->out xtra injectors------>into the stock fuel rail

Does that work? I can take some pics tonight.
