08.5 Pearl White MS3 GT
Just wanted to say Hi from Chicago.

Coming out of a 06' WRX with a built motor, STI 6speed swap, rotated 3076r setup. It got totaled with only 800 miles on the built motor and 30r by a 73 year old in a minivan. The subaru was down 6 out of the last 12 months between stripping 3rd gear off the original transmission on a 20G and then blowing the motor 4 months later so it was time to say goodbye to Subaru and say HELLO to a new 08.5 Pearl White MS3 GT.

I have to admit the MS3 is quite superior in all aspects other than being FWD.

Oh and obligatory crappy snapshot of said stock MS3.

OOOOGH, A stock MS3. You got fix that. Get a sticker or something, quick. Any plans for the MS3 or she going to stay a virgin?

Here was a engine bay shot after I finished the motor build. The outside was bone stock sleeper except a flat black fmic.

As far as modding the MS3 I dunno, I was planning/hoping to keep it stock after dumping close to 20K into the Subaru in a year and having nothing to show for it.

However just today I was at the shop that has done all my tuning on the Subaru getting some all seasons on and they are already offering up to try their new intake setup for the mazda to test out....so I guess we'll see. It does def. need tint and I'm thinking about getting the wheels powdercoated bronze, any thoughts?

Bronze with tint will look good. Be careful when taking your car back to the dealership, with any mods, as Mazda is bad about voiding warranties.

That pretty much sums it up for me too. I started a similar thread to this here: http://www.mazdas247.com/forum/showthread.php?t=123723742

The mazda really is a much better feeling car than the suby's were. I will have to say, and you will figure this out too after you put some more miles on the MS3, that I miss the AWD from time to time. When at the front of a red light and you want to either a) show some gay ricer or even a V8 carbon copy what AWD can do from a dig or b) you really need to get ahead of the cars next to you. Also when a small window opens to pull into oncoming traffic from a driveway, the FWD just doesnt do it with the urgency AWD does.

Other than that I vote for the MS3 in basically all other categories. I think the MS3 will force us (people used to AWD) to become better drivers because the car isnt doing all the work anymore. Adjustments will have to be made in driving style but thats ok, change is good. Nice choice and welcome!

yay for white! Your picture almost makes it look like you have the Canadian MS3..... welcome to Mazda my friend.

very nice! i like the look of a white ms3.

Thanks! I had always wanted my wrx to be white, now I finally got my white car :).

Now if only i knew why the car is pulling right and getting alot more torque steer with my change to all season tires....with the re050's i felt the car had almost zero torque steer and it tracked straight.

better wider tire? no idea but that would be my guess. I have no idea what comes stock on those things.

Some dude just bought a white MS3 in my neck of the woods and I have to say I'm not so impressed. I wouldn't trade my black mica in for it.
