? for those who have bov

at least i'm not the only one having this problem.. i'll try changing it back to the bpv this weekend and see...
 
The "boging" doesnt sound good. My only advice is check the installation again. "boging" at 4000 rpm...im clueless on that one. Sorry....just know I dont have that problem.
 
I asked a buddy with a greddy type S, and hes got a vacuum cap on the silver flange.. he said it just changes the sound, and wouldnt be the cause of the severe bogging.
Plus where you have piping recirculated is where the air comes out.
For now, go back to stock....
 
Well i dont fell boost until 4500 rpms or so. Its always been that way. And now the kit is in, and it bogs when boost tries to kick in and then it just goes back to normal. Its like a half a second..but its crazy.
 
Thanks man...I always wondered what that second nibble does and if its nessesary (Greddy Type S).

Another suggestion is to maybe chaeck the BOV as you press on the throttle make sure its closing when you give it gas. Maybe its a bad vacume source...are you using the stock vacum source for the BOV/BPV?
 
I didnt do the install on my car... And i didnt keep any of the stock parts (didnt think about it at the time cuz im new to this whole thing.) Also what is a vacuum cap? Do i actually run another line. I know some about cars but when it comes to this stuff its basically a foriegn language. (very foriegn)

Edit... also im confused about the adjustment screw....when i messed with it, it just seemed like the nut loosened and thats it. It didnt seem like it was going to do anything but fall off.

You need to run it off another dedicated vacume line. Try a search on the brake booster line and see if that works.

I don't see how this will help your hesitation. Adding the second vacume source will only help the BOV open easier/quicker. If you just loosen the valve spring it will have a similar effect. The only reason I can think of to add this is if you tighten the Valve spring tight enough to prevent stalling, but still get the turkey. Then adding the second line would help open the greddy sooner, thus preventing the turkey, while the tighter spring would make it close soon, thus preventing the stall.

Hmmm... I might try this this weekend. Sometimes when shifting at very low RPMs (2000-2500) with very low boost levels I think I can hear a turkey for a split second. It's so faint I can't tell if I'm hearing it or imagening it. Could be that at low boost levels my valve is too tight to open quick enough to catch the blacklash of air. I think I'll try it out and see.

nope you're hearing it... and when you go to 5k rpms and let off while still in gear you will get it too.

Im gonna try to figure out how to do the second line. Ive never done anything like this so im a little nervous.

No I don't get it then. At 5k RPMs there is enough boost pressure for my Greddy to properly open and the air escapes. If I just let off the gas the BOV isn't loud, and the sound is very short, but the valve opens for sure. If I let off the gas and engage the clutch at 5k RPMs the blow off is very loud and very long.

I only hear that sound when driving very slow and shifting at very low RPMs.

wierd.. .If i let of the gas at 5k it has a mild gobble .......or maybe i can just hear the turbo spooling down.

If i engage then ya i get a nice whoosh.
