For Sale issues with yellow pro5 (anyone affected please post in here!)

Hey guys, I sent Yellow Pro5 a check for lover $200 for sonme parts for my P5over 2 months ago, and i still have not got the parts, and he keeps giving me excusues after excuses?

Any of you guys have any problems with this guy?? his name is Zach?

I asked him if he had a paypal account and he told me no, so i sent him a business check, come to find out I know he just purchased some parts of a few members with his paypal account?

I trusted him and now im getting screwed?

every now and then he responds and he assured me that my parts were going out today and that i would have tracking #'s pm'd to me but I got nothing?

any and all help would be appreciated. I am going to go to my bank this week and see if i can recover my funds, and then i am going to try and see what other options i have criminally.

I hate when you put your trust in someone, and they just take your money.

I have been a member on many forums and have never had a problem, this is a first.

Thanx! guys

No offense, but it is already 20 pages long, so I think we've sorta passed the point of trying to keep things on topic (silly)

Not that I'm trying to diminish what those people who got scammed lost - there's been no winners in this, even with the jerk who scammed everyone. After all, he's got to live with himself.
I've tried multiple times and this thread has been cleaned already...

I'll say it again... Have useful input and/or be personally involved in this, or your posts will just be deleted.

what did you buy from him?

nothing apparently... just sent him a money order for $200... (i'm over the fact that i'll never see my part, so now i just try to laugh about it)

i was supposed to get an obx header. said it only had about 400 miles on it. he only bought it so he could drive his car while he was having a turbo set up built for is.

nice. what a prick. i know someone that makes fairly frequent trips to dayton. i'm thinking about giving them the address and having them go get my $200 back.

Hey,if you see the bloody bastard, tell him to get you my $120!!!!
Keep the $20 for the favor(flame2)

Honestly this is not a "common" occurrence, he is an exception to the typical seller out there. It does happen, I got scammed once for about $120 when I was 17 (I don't even remember what it was I was buying at the time) but I've never had it happen again and I have made A LOT more purchases since then with private sellers. Honestly I understand the feeling of not wanting to get "tricked" again, but at the end of the day it's only money and I personally won't let the actions of others dictate my actions. Just learn from the situation and be more vigilant in the future,

I must agree...I have been scammed 3 times on this forum...got my money back once and pretty much got told by the mods it was my problem with the other two...it took one of them coming back on here a year later selling the parts I supposedly bought, and then disappearing for him to get a Potential Scammer title...the other one nothing...I try to be very careful who I do business with now...

Sorry to bring up this thread but I live in Cleveland Ohio, about 4 hours north of Dayton. I used to live in Dayton and have a lot of good friends still down there. I'm sure I can round up some friends and pay this guy a visit. This kind of stuff really pisses me off. People will have to learn they can't get away with this sort of thing.

If there's anything I can do, let me know. PM me and we can figure out something to get you guys your money back.

That will be great,i just want my $120 back and i am done with this.
Callled him several times, text him and no answer or reply.

Here's his info : Todd Zachary (937) 271-5061
I hope you can do something and even if i don't get my money back at least let him know that you don't do that kind of sh** here were everyone is trying to help others.
Regards

this guy doesnt even live at the address posted. and im trying to get my money back. he made up s*** that hes out of town. but im gona go down there myself with my friend who benches 270 and we will get my money or theyre be trouble. argie if i have to go down, ill try to get your money back.

wow people....are we really that stupid to show up at someones house for a few hundred bucks? and what are you going to do? beat his ass? Oh yeah, because that would be intelligent....spend a night in jail and have to lawyer up because you've been charged with assault...

how about we try being intelligent about this? speak with the local police, something can be done.

I'd be pissed if he took my money too but I'm not going to risk my life(what if he has a gun?) or my freedom over a couple hundred bucks...

Think people! Anymore talk of this stupidity and I'm shutting this ignorant BS up regardless whether you're serious or not.

what does benching 270 have to do with getting your money back...a bullet will put a end to all the bench pressing crap.

Dont do something stupid over a few hundred dollars... It sucks but all you can do it report it to the police and hopefully they look into it... BTW, 270 pounds isnt that much... I did 285 last summer and I consider myself to be weak.. LOL

its been tried, and it hasnt worked. they dont seem willing to cooperate based on whats been presented. basically, they dont want to be involved with a transaction conducted outside of a website with more-or-less binding user contracts.
the options from here:
-keep trying. it cant hurt but it may just be banging your head against the wall.
-as mentioned, are to take him to civl court, which has been tried by people previously as mentioned by forcefed. he has nothing to lose so he hasnt paid and none of the previous plaitiffs have pressed charges. if you get a judgement and he doesnt pay, then you can have him prosecuted. this would take forever and probably isnt worth it.
-contact a previous plaintiff and convince them to press charges. saves you the hassle, and after you convince them one phone call should get a warrant out.
-beat the daylight out of him and definitely end up in jail.
-vandilize his car or whatever and maybe end up in jail.

i know ive always been saying to find another plaintiff. i still stand by that. its the only way its going to get resolved economically and legally.

Please see the post I linked from NASIOC regarding a similar issue. This guy can get nailed if people want to take the time to push it in the right direction. Right now there's a ton of people offering up suggestions, but very little, if any, action being taken.

youre right - this is really on the buyers, but dannyxcarr has been trying to work with the police in the scammers jurisdiction and they havent been of much help. at leas the guys on NASIOC got a detective willing to be of assistance.
if more people get involved in contacting the authorities in his jurisdiction maybe their attitude will change.

right now i can see the following people need to go to a chatroom and develop a plan.
argie, ajkulish, dannyxcarr, q7suited, sirdaft1, 92SDmiata (eventually resolved). excluding miata, thats five people and can be done by PM.

some posts of interest for the people who were scammed:
scammer's personal information and mention of previous lawsuits
dayton police contact info (not township-specific)
township police contact info
tunersteve might be right, if everyone gets together and gets the information flowing to the local police maybe theyll look into it. if not, get the court records from one of the cases he was involved in and try to get in touch with one of the plaintiffs.
