If any of you were out Saturday night March 12, 2005 on Westheimer and HW6 you may have noticed that Westheimer was blocked off back towards RSI and Big Dogs...well incase you were wondering here's the story

Investigators say alcohol was involved in an overnight wreck that killed a Houston firefighter.

Detectives say another car rammed the victims's from behind, causing it to flip and land on its roof.
It happened just before midnight in the 16300 block of Westheimer.

Fireman Henry Martinez died at the scene.

His female passenger was taken to Memorial Hermann in serious condition.

Authorities say the driver of the vehicle that struck them, 42-year-old Nasser Zaghmout, has been charged with intoxication manslaughter and intoxication assault.

Martinez, 44, was a 22-year veteran with the Houston Fire Department and leaves behind five children.

It's all kind of scary because I know that's where a lot of you race, in that particular area...that guy and his family are in my prayers...

I'm just thankful it wasn't one of us out there...

I don't think a 2yr old being shot by a 4yr old is going to produce a new job opening by your theory of "process of elimination"...Just my opinion

A lot of us hang out at Big Dogs after the 5.0 raids us off Starbucks...you see races going on, i know some are set up races and some are just fly by races....but still, knowing that that guy got hit just a few minutes before the cops raid us off SBs is all kinda scary in my mind...

I mean imagine, people go out to have fun with their toys n s***...and a drunk ass old man hits you, then all of a sudden you're dead and your girl is in the hospital...freaky s***...but then again i think about things too much.

Also, his car flew off in the field, but what if that s*** happens and someones car flies into the BD parking lot where everyone is chillin? ahh

I'm just happy that it wasn't someone i see out there on a regular basis, cuz that would have hit me a little harder, but I still feel like crap because that guy died, and he had a family...I don't know what i'd do if i lost my dad like that...
