I am considering the 55W/5000K DDM HID Slim Ballast Kit found here:

I had a 2003 SVT Focus before, and those bulbs are rated 4300K, so I want to come close to that output. Looked very clean without appearing to have a really blue hue to it.
Anyways, my question is what do you guys think of their functionality? Does it throw the light on the road in a usable pattern, or do you have some awkward dead spots where the light doesn't appear to reach? Basically, do you think the kits provide you better lighting, or are the kits really only good for changing the color for appearance purposes?
Any before/after pictures would be awesome too. I know it can be difficult to show others with pictures but something is better than nothing. Thanks guys!
