Ok guys, I posted this once ages ago in the HOW-TO section, but I don't think many of you saw it or had ideas.

Here is the HOW-TO post:
http://www.msprotege.com/vbb225/showthread.php?s=&threadid=3721

Now this is what I said:
having the fogs come on with the Daytime Running Lights and whatnot is fine, but here's what i've always wanted to do...

1- Fogs on and and yellow indicator lights on only. no DRL's!

so really the questions is a two parter:

1- how do i disable the DRL's completely?
2- how do i operate the fog lights as i wish regardless of what lights are enabled? (how can i run the fog's whenever i want)

up here in canada and most new models in the US have DRL's, the idea is to just have the yellow side markers and indicators + fog lights just like audi's.

someone has GOT to know how to kill the DRL's. i do realize that there are legal issues, but i'm willing to drive around without them and use fogs as a replacement.

hope someone knows!

ok guys, is it

a) that we don't know how to do it?
b) don't want to do it?

not sure about number 2, but for number 1, you can install HIDs cause they don't run as DRLs, then rewire the fogs to run as DRLs........hehehehe.........

This is probably not much help but I am going to try it myself. I'm pretty sure it will work.

Here it goes: Look for the power supply to the fog lights by going to the light itself (this can be accomplished with a test light with the lights switched on), and trace it back into the car as far as you can. Cut this wire at this point and cap off the side that goes to the car. Connect a long enough wire to the other end and run adjacent to a harness that leads to your dash. Once the wire from the lights is under the dash, run another wire from a +12V constant supply with an in-line fuse holder (the fuse is for saftey purposes and should hold a 15A fuse). Find a cool looking switch at Radio Shack or where ever and find a suitable place in the car to mount it. Connect each wire to each of the poles on the switch and this should allow you to turn the lights on even when the car is off.

If you want access to the lights only when the car is on, then just connect to a switched +12V versus a constant +12V. This wire can be located under the steering column.

If I have some time this weekend and it's not scolding hot outside, I will try this myself and post shortly after.

If you have any questions, just PM me.
