I saw this orange svt focus this morning, this orange car pulls up next to me.... the msp orange looks better though!!!!!!!!

WTF is the deal with the focus? They are piles of s***! My sister has one, they suck. No its not the SVT but still, focus sucks!

They are some of the worst cars on the market, they are right next to kias, the yugo, and anything else that has the ford logo on it. Well except the 05 GT Mustang...the ONLY mustang other than da SHELBY! I would drive...or sit in.

Anyways back to my ranting...the focus sucks ass, they have almost no trade in value! Here is an example on the resell trade in value. My sister just spent 16,000 on her 03, BRAND NEW...k IDIOT. Cause the same day she bought hers there was an 02 with 11,000 miles on it(maybe have been less, dont remeber for sure) for 7,000!!. BUT nooo it was "new" had to have that one...now she is taking it in the ass cause oh its a focus.

The damn thing sounds like an turbo-charged vibrator when you accelerate. its crap!! Focus sucks ass, always has, always will.

EDIT: I forgot to say that whoever designed the inside of the car needs to get a big kick in the nuts, or a tit shot if it was a girl. If the center console is down, you have to put it in the upgright postion to get to the E-brake, the seats suck ass like no other. It would be more comfortable to ride on the cargo rack uptop than in the car for long distances. Did I mention that the inside looks like crap too? It also feels like crap...all the parts are just.....cheap! When I open the door I feel like I am gonna break the handle off, or when I touch the stereo I feel like I am gonna break that too. Putting the e-brake on? LOL, dont break it!

Anyways..I am done

Yeah, Focus's are crap. A friend of mine has a SVT, the 1st one in Florida. Ford is buying it back under the lemon law.

Anyone have a pic of this car? I used to be on Focaljet, but I have lost track of them & I had no clue they came in orange or had a Euro package.

apparently there was another "recall" on the 00-01 foci. I saw the story posted in another forum from Reuters, I think the link led me to Yahoo! Business. as far as I can tell that makes 10.5 recalls since this one isn't "official." :D

oh Foci... :D

I beat the snot out of an SVT on a test drive and then went over and bought the MSP. The car handled pretty good but the motor has to be wound out all the time to get decent power out of it hence the 6 speed. More options on it than the MSP but no turbo. Makes almost as much power though. All in all I decided that the focus was too cheesy for me and for the sime price I could drive a bad ass Mazda

Euro package comes with silly lookin wheels too. But it has Recaro seats. That's the only thing worth a damn about the euro package

I got to rent a focus on a business trip once, and the most annoying thing about it was being able to hear the gas moving in the gas tank every time you break, accell, hit a bump, etc... just crap.... I would rather own a kia...

I know i'm gonna get flamed for this but i'ma have to disagree w/ u all... Don't get me wrong, I love my speed but the svt focus is not all that bad. I considered getting one before i bought my speed but decided on the speed due to looks and the turbo. Food for thought... Next year, i beleive it is something like 04.5 or early 05 the svt focus is going turbo. similar to the eurpoean focus rs. Heard in the neighborhood of 220-250 hp. Only then i might consider trading in my Beloved MSP!!!

Euro package comes with HID headlights as well. Not a bad looking car for the money really. Handles good too. I do like the MSP better though.

Yeah I don't think the SVT is all that bad. It is definitely in the same class as our cars. And like I said way more options on the SVT than our cars too. Heated mirrors, heated seats, power driver seat, power sunroof, cruise control, engine block heater. Still looks like a focus though

I agree, it is still a focus, and as far as the amenities, you're correct there as well, much more to shoose on the focus. Additionally, the aftermarket support is definitley there in all aspects. Theres soo much out there for it. Slap on a jackson Racing SC. Your're talking at least 50-80% more power w/ the right mods.

The SVT focus topped out all other cars under the consumer reports testing. (STI tailing closely behind).

Given, the consumer reports crew isnt there for the adrenaline rush driving runs that say car and driver, motor trend, super street, etc are.

I am good friends with drivers of both cars, mazdaspeed and focus. I'd take the SVT, no doubt. The sound system looks completely stock and is LOUD. It handles perfectly well, and outruns the MSP every time, hands down. This focus takes a routine beating, and holds up perfectly. Although there is a problem with his wheels cracking, he is on his 3rd wheel. These cars are very capable as far as tuning as well.

The MSP was cared for in a much better fashion, and at the same time, had much more trouble. It started with an oil leak the first week after he had it, and went downhill from there.

Ford focus has my bid, no doubt.

I actually had put a $500 deposit down on the SVT focus almost a year before they came out. I kept getting put off and put off. Finally the delaership calls me (almost 5 months after initial deadline) and tells me my car is in stock. I get there with my checkbook and my trade and they didn't get the car in I ordered. I told them base SVT with no sound system, no power anything. I wanted the car stripped with nothing but the sunroof. the car I got was fully loaded and they informed me that this was the only way they could get the car. I told them I would take it, but for the stripped price....they looked at me like I was speaking in color. I drove the car....what a dissappointment. You guys want to complain about the MSP tranny?? Drive a focus and then kiss your MSP. The motor made NO extra power anywhere in the normal driving range. Only when pushed to and beyond its limits did it act like it wanted to go somewhere. I told the dealership at the time that I was not interested in this vehicle and asked for my $500 back. they told me no, but they would roll it onto another Ford....I told them to eat me and to kiss my $25K good bye. I then went to Nissan..I was very impressed with the SE-R SpecV. Wow! So that's what torque feels like!! Too bad it was sub-par in every other catagory. The SE-R is a great daily driver commuter for someone who likes bump through traffic. Next it was Mazda and the MP3.....what? no more mp3's? but you have a turbo mp3?? hmm, let me do my homework and I'll be back! Long story short. Buy the MSP....Love the MSP....Trade it in when the RX-7 hits the streets in a year or two!!
