Fmic

Anyone have pictures of the PERRIN front mount intercooler for MSP? Also is anyone selling one or know someone selling one.

Thanks

Drew

Thats what they say! But how much better? Well perrin fmic are hard to come by so turbolife will be the next best thing I guess..

Why not just diy for less.... Because honestly "The size of the IC or pipes has absolutely nothing to do with throttle response, or boost response. If you can calculate how long it takes for X amount of CFM to fill the volume in the intercooler, then you're thinking too hard. The flow is so great relative to the volume of the intercooler and pipe and distance involved in whatever sort of plumbing you utilize that these factors have virtually zero influence. Larger ICs do have greater pressure drops. If a 2psi drop exists, then the turbo is pushing 14psi, but only 12psi exits. This can effect spool time simply because the extra 2psi you need to add might take just those extra few RPMs to reach." and thats why i think prefab kits are lame

The Perrin/Turbolife set-up has proven to give the best results. The shorter routing has proven better throttle response and higher HP then the regular DIY.
The turboLife set-up is true magic. I can't wait for a used one to come up so I can upgrade my MAM set-up, which BTW is another great set-up

and both require you to remove the crash bar, correct?

is there an FMIC still in production where you keep the crash bar and do minimal cutting? i know altered customs you have to cut some of the pipes and i don't know if i have the equipment... the MAM one looks to be out of production... perrin and turbolife involve removing the crash bar... don't know about corksport or ion, seems like those arent as popular

turbolife and the perrin are the only ones that require you replace the crash bar.

The corksport requirese some cutting, i believe the altered customs does too.

if you dont want to cut anything get the hi boost kit

My design is based off the MAM, you keep your crash bar. Some cutting of the pipes and the lower corners of the frame. The other option if you don't want to cut them yourself is to take them to your local muffler shop, they can do it in a few seconds. I'm planning to have a sale on the MSP FMIC Kits soon also.
