hey all, so i'm still fresh into the scene and i was just wondering if anyone could help! i bought a set of 17x8 rims (re-drilled to the correct pcd and cb of course) with a 30et. to my knowledge, i don't think it's compatible due to it's offset. however, i've read that various tire measurements/lowering will also effect it from rubbing or not. my wheels are not mounted yet, so if anyone knows what tires are best/ what i'd have to do to make it work, it would be greatly appreciated! i do plan on lowering with coils and i don't mind a bit of poke. i'm also prepared to roll my fender if need be. thanks in advance! (((:

What tire size will you be running with these wheels? that would help as well...

What you SHOULD be running on those wheels are either 225/40 what most will tell you is either 215/45 or 205/45 with taht youll get some stretch.

Once you figure out what tires you will be running, all you need to do is roll the rear fenders. and a slight slight pull. your fronts will be fine you'll just rub on the inside when you full turn the wheel if that.

hey, thanks so much! are you saying 225/40 is best? i was trying to get some insight on what others recommend before i pick up set of tires.. also, is there a way to prevent even the slightest of full turn rubs? i'm hoping it isn't inevitable..

fyi Im running 18x8 35 offset and there is a slight rubbing sound at full lock but has caused no damage so far.

How often are you FULL lock turning at MPH over lets say 5... you will be fine trust me. With a lowered car you will rub someway or another... just fact

but just make sure you roll your rear fenders very good with a slight pull like i said and youll be good. I would rather have rounded metal rubbing on my tire then non rolled metal

You should be fine with the et30. my blitz are originally et35 but i added a 5mm spacer, though you might need to roll your fenders on the front a bit. Tire size im running 205/40. though i would recommend 215/40

hey thanks! (: did you end up having to roll your fenders? to my understanding, the mazda 3's fenders have an edge at the end, making it a bit more difficult to roll on your own..

The rear fenders always need to be rolled for aggressive fitments/carrying passengers. And yes, they are super-annoying to roll because the metal lip is double-layered, strong, has delcate paint and sealant all over it and you don't have much lip to hammer on. Rolling with a fender roller seems to damage the sealant more than hammering it in with a soft deadblow hammer, but no matter what I've never seen a rear fender rolled on these cars without needing a little rust protection afterwards.

The front is almost trivial in comparison. Standard fender roll + cut fenderliner operation.

Yes, I did roll my fenders. I knew I would get an aggressive set of wheels like the Rotiform's I picked up. The fronts are where you will need to roll more and require you to remove some on the plastic well so that you don't scrape or rub if you're getting bigger tires but overall are easier. the rears are harder to roll like color0 mentioned the rears are double layered defintately a must for wider tires. I would pay someone who has done a lot of fender rolling than doing it yourself.
