Fishdonotbounce's 2008.5 CWP Speed3 GT "Build" Thread

Post some pics of your mirror decals, dawg. You know I just like to bust your balls. My rising sun Mazda sticker is SOOOO much faster than your mirrors.

ps- do you mean Goodridge brake lines?

Haha I'll go snap a pic here in a minute if I can from all this damn rain. And no, Goodyear makes brake lines. They're super top secret so you wouldn't know about them. :-)

looks great! the 2nd gen wheels look great on there

Thank you sir!! I love how they look on the first Gen. Perfect fit.

Pics or it didn't happen! (JK :D)

Good info about the mud flaps. I've had my eye on the Rally Armour but I didn't know that the Corksport ones stuck out less. I think that I might like the look of the CS ones better...

I don't really want mudflaps right now but I really want the protection for my car. Rallyarmor makes a great product. Anyway here's a quick pic of the decal on the mirrors :-)

HT and stock TMIC are going to be your biggest restrictions for big power

get an AP and a FMIC, or a CS TMIC if you want a quick install

I actually have an ETS tmic. The HT option is because the car is after all a daily driver. I will most definitely upgrade when I get a beater. Ive done a bit of research already but I have a LOT more research to do. Another big factor is the fact that I need to learn how to drive my car well. I plan on keeping the car until it falls apart. It will become my project car eventually. Thanks for the help. Feel free to offer as much advice as you want. It is all very welcome.

HT isnt designed for much more than intake/testpipe. you are going to need a map tailored to your car. The AP can be as safe or aggressive as you want

my car is my DD too

when i get meth ill make 2 maps, one with and one without. the meth map will be for hooning and the dry will be DD

i dont think ill ever use the dry map tho hahahaha

Hey what wheels are your track wheels? I want those center caps!

I've justread too many horror stories about the AP. Is this all a bunch of people overstepping their boundaries and being stupid with their tunes? Like I said, I obviously have a lot more to research. I might go with the AP for an extra hundred if I can make it just as safe.

Bwahaha the center caps are actually off mazdaspeed ms02 wheels I believe. I may be off on the exact number. The wheels are rays engineering 57motorsports g07wt's. I actually had to grind away material on the wheels for the center caps to fit. Took a long time and was a pain in the ass but the end result was worth it.

ap is only as good as the tuner that uses it. put a retard in front of the software and yes it will blow

let me ask you this

people blow on stock tune

mazda spends millions on engineers designing the software for the ecu

they arent retarded (afaik) but people blow

all user error, whether it be a s*** tune. or an idiot beating the piss out of it till something lets go

i will admit there is always the small percentage of failures that can be attributed to a manufacturing defect

but that represents <1%

Nah, I wanted to sub to this thread, and I put something other than "subbing" or "subbed" lol (It's a Family Guy reference)
