First Timer. Period.

So i dont even own my first car but hopefully want to pick up the Mazda2 as my first. Its affordable, great gas mileage, and after browsing through all the different pictures on this forum, looks GREAT modded. Because this is my first car, i have never modded a car or done anything with a car for that matter. Is modding a car hard? Where is a good place to learn? I live in SoCal. Thx in advance!

The only way to learn is to do it, and if you're lucky you'll find someone local that can help you out. All the corksport stuff comes with detailed install instructions, so all long and you're not completely mechanically inept, you should be able to ease into it with a few bolt-on mods. Just make sure of a couple of things: If you're working on the electrical system, always disconnect the battery; If you've got the car off the ground, always use jack stands (not just the jack).

Beyond that, just dig in... and if you're having a LOT of anxiety about it, it's probably over your head and you should leave it to a pro.

A great place to learn to mod your Mazda2 would be right here. On this forum. Lot's of good info for your to read and look at. Plus, we have a lot of members that are more than willing to answer your questions. But do a search first! ;)

Some mods are easy, others not so much. Do your research. See what others have done. Tastes are subjective but mods can get out of control, fast. Don't get into the realm of the dreaded RICE BOY.(notcool)

Depending on what you wanna do ,just search or ask a question on this forum and im sure someone would help, or post up detailed pics of how to do a mod you may be interested in

And as Mazdatwo mentioned....Safety safety safety, i have learned first hand trying to rush without using proper safety is just not a good thing. with that said you should be ok with bolt on mods and minor modding with help of this site and some of its writeups it has .

again if you have hard time searching for something, dont be afraid to start a thread asking a question, people here are very helpful,oh and welcome to the site!
