First "mods"...

this guy painted his mp3 orange.

curious.

so instead of the avg 1-3 hp gain using a CAI, expect a 5-10hp gain.
Actually, a CAI on a turbo really won't have much of an effect. The air is heated bup after it goes through the turbo anyway. It will add good sound though.

That's my car. I didn't paint it orange.

I say if you are going to void your warranty do it right! Slap on bigger injectors (450cc), bigger intercooler, boost gauges, Apex'i S-AFC, Profec-B and turn the boost up to 12-15.

They said that if you turn the boost up past 12 it will result in bottem end damage. See that is on stock ecu and stock injectors. See above......DSM'ers have been doing this for years.

As far as the "orange" car.....no it doesn't look orange, it is a dark shade of yellow. The shifter boot on the other hand is a shade of orange. I think it is the quality of the pic. In your sig it is definately yellow, but in the gauge pic, it is far darker.......

*Edit* By the way Ben, have you voided your warranty yet?

You for got one of the biggest and most important parts if you want that kind of boost. TIMING CONTROL. The stock knock sensor will not do.

Oh yeah! :D

What did you use for timing control........

If you really want to do it right....Haltech.....why mess around and try to jerry rig it when you can do it right the first time......

Dude, msg me on AIM: ProphetSHO

I don't have AIM. Haltech is expensive though. It is much better than a Link or a J&S such as I use though. THe J&S is mostly pasive timing control(it reacts then retards the timing) The link and Greddy Emanage is an active timing controller(you decide the retard amount and area of the rpm band you want it at. Although, John, the guy who makes the J&S said the newer model of the safeguard such as I have, ultra-safeguard is also active.(it has a MAP sensor for boost and you can retard timing per boost)

Don't mean to sound illiterate nor do i mean to sound like an diznick to you but i don't get this part of your post....

Who said that if you turn up the boost up past 12 it will result in bottem end damage?

and

"see that is on stock ecu and stock injectors"..did you mean "See, that is with the stock ecu and stock injectors"...?

and also..what have DSM'ers been doing for years? doing the mods you listed?

Thanks.

No problem. DSM'ers have a problem. They can boost up to 18 psi on the stock ecu and stock injectors. There injectors are 450 cc. Pretty healthy for stock psi which is like 11 or 10. I have been told that our injectors are like between 200cc and 300cc on the MSP. Well all you have to do is throw bigger injectors (DSM 450cc's for isntance, like I have) and some time of fuel controller and maybe a timing controller..... and you can boost well past 9 psi. It is a matter of how much tuning you have before you run into problems with the internals.

On the question of bottem end damage. It was said by someone at the Mazda heat seminar they had or are having through out this month.

When my warranty is about up I have a nice pyle of parts here that I can toss on the ole' MSP and start putting out some nice numbers on stock internals. It has already been said that it can handle 350 hp on stock internals.... now internals does not include stock injectors, fuel, or ecu....... stock internals is crank, pistons, rods, etc....
