Anyone here effected by the fires in SD, i heard from the News that there is a 30% chance it might come were i live in Penioquitos/wrong spelling.

I live about 50 miles away from the Ranch Coucamonga fire and we're still getting ash all over the cars parked outside. It must be horrible at the seen.

First off, you don't know how to spell the name of where you live? Are you trying to say Penasquitas?

Second, the fires aren't directly affecting me, aside from a bit of ash falling out of the sky. I do know some people who live in the affected areas, though (Scripps Ranch). I haven't been able to get through to them yet, so I don't know how they're doing. It's definitely one helluva fire. The smoke looks like a volcano erupted or something from where I'm at (Del Mar area) and there's enough smoke that it was "cloudy" most of the day and when it was sunny, it was a wierd color outside - reminded me of when there's a tornado brewing. Also, it was eerily quiet outside here today.

my parents are in poway, but more concern is with my cousins in Scripps Ranch, who've been evacuated and are now with my folks. keeping fingers crossed...

sorry can't spell were i live because i just moved here from mira mesa about a month ago. ..... Well anyways when i went to work in MCAS Miramar this mourning, driving through the base was so freeky and wierd. It was like it was snowing, but darker and scarier. But they closed the store were i worked and i had a day off with pay so i', kinda happy.

zumi, I hope everything turns out ok.

Here(Serra Mesa, quarter mile north of Qualcomm) we all packed up and most everyone left. We stayed, I don't know why. Played some poker, ate mexican food, watched the flames about 2 miles away. But everything seems to be ok. My best friend evacuated about an hour and a half ago and I havn't heard from him since. A girl that is close to me was doing fine when I woke up, but I heard she evacuated around 2 and her house is now gone(not 100% sure on this, but she lives between the fire and my best friend, so it's a good chance). But she doesn't have a cell phone so I have NO idea how she is. Another close friend is ready to go, just waiting for them to lift their finger and say go. It's calm around here but still going strong in other places. I'm doing my best to tell everyone I'm ok, just waiting for them to respond.

I hope everyone on here is ok, and everyone they care about.

thanks guys, best wishes for everybody else in SD....

Poway has been lucky thus far...but it's pretty close...keeping fingers crossed....

I think parts of poway is on fire right now. Eerie.

yeah it's scary. i wish i were home with my folks right now.

what are some online sources of info ppl are using? all i have is video from nbcsandiego.com and audio from 760kfmb.com

nbc san diego might not be that bad. I could just watch tv and see it, or even just walk outside.

I'll look for some links. I'm trying to find some good maps, but cant. The news sucks on this whole thing. All day they have been showing the same things going "this was shot about 2 hours ago, but you can see just how intense it is out there" F that, whats going on now, and where you mfers!!! Haha, I hate the media. Let me look for those links now...

Cant find anything good. But heres a pic that makes San Diego look like a 3rd world country with massive wars going on.
