I've been waiting on these bad boys for two weeks now, which came today and got swapped out... stockers to the storage unit.
They were inexpensive, and the place I bought them from only offered size 225/40/18's, so those are the shoes for this set. I got Nexen 5000n's tires, cheapos for sure, but they were in the budget. Plus, the treadwear is 420 (420 dude!), and I didn't even realize they went up that high. They seemed fine rolling around town today, and on the highway cruising at 80. I was pleasantly surprised with the ride quality... seemed smoother than, and no more road noise than the stock Potenzas. Too soon to recommend them though.
However, let me run this by you guys, and let me know what you think. I got this set of wheels and tires as a prior alignment issue (car pulled left pretty bad, and still no SPC's) resulted in the outside of my rear tires getting chewed up in 4K miles. Even after getting my car aligned to spec, the car still pulled left on the highway, but not nearly as pronounced. I couldn't justify paying $500 for two new stock tires and I wanted new dark wheels anyways, so I got this set to replace the stockers. So, when rolling home from the movies tonight on the highway with the new wheels on, I noticed the car FINALLY running straight!!
Could this be because the recent alignment was the fix, buy the uneven wear of the stockers still caused remnants of the drift left, but the brand new meats let her run straight? I'm not complaining, just curious!
Let me know what you think of the new wheels too... the color is 'hyperdark.' Wheels are sooo subjective so feel free to give props, or say they're ugly as hell, lol.
Sorry for the crappy pic... I snapped it at the movie theater parking lot with my cell phone, which can't take pics in low light, and has a tendency to stretch the photo when taking at an angle. Will take proper pics soon. Anyways, here she is:
