09 Mazda6 GT,2.5 Liter
Just wanted to pass on that I finally did what I wanted to do for some time. I purchased B&G lowering springs and installed them. Dropped the car appr. 1.5 inches. Looks and drives great. Also put on a Corksport air intake and some after market wheels 18 inch same as the stock size. Kept my stock wheels for winter tires, which i just ordered ( can't believe the prize for 18 inch winters) I will post some pics as soon as I figure out how to post them! don't like computers much!! This project was fun, looking for some window vent visors and a trunk lip spoiler, which is only available for the Japanese model so far! Intime I hope some more stuff will come out for the US model. Has anyone done the HID conversion to the fog lights, where can I get the kit?

great to hear man looking forward to pictures and i have hids in my low beams and fogs, got them from ddmtuning.com for 40 bucks and have never had an issue with them! good luck enjoy your car! i upload pictures on tinypic.com by the way just make sure you copy and paste the message board link

Cool news, Udo - I've been thinking about doing the same thing with the springs on my '09. Any chance you took pics during the install(looking forward to the 'after' pics as well)? It would be great to see the process. How difficult was the install/how long did it take? I've got the Corksport SRI as well(install pics over on this thread http://www.mazdas247.com/forum/showthread.php?123741147-2009-2.5L-Mazda-6-CAI). have been enjoying the drive.

cheers,

Hey Stephen

Sorry I have not replyed sooner. No I did not take any pics during install, sorry. But it is quite simple, took about 2 hours in total. The back is very easy to do, takes half an hour, best to do it on a hoist, just a little easier.! Take the bottom bolt to of the control arm wheel side, also unbolt the swaybar wheel side. Pull down on control arm spring falls out, it's that simple, same for both sides. The front is also not that hard, but keep in mind you do need a spring compressor. Take the bolt out that holds the strut to the fork, take the top 3 bolts for the topstrut mounts off,and strut comes out. Compress your spring, take it out and install in reverse order. Keep in mind to that you should check your wheel aglinment after, just in case!!

Cheers
Udo
