I don't think that much is going to improve in the short term if Fidel dies. His brother is as big of an ass as he is.

I actually don't think that Fidel is all that bad any more. He has mellowed out with age some. The new(not really very new) dickhead is Hugo Chaves. I was in Venezuela a few years ago to see family and that place continues to go down the shitter...gas is like 25cents a gallon though!

I said real communism....not which has been called so in Cuba and USSR asnd such. Those that claimed to be communism, which is not. That is why I said dont say "**** communism" based on those pathetic exuces of gov't. Real communism is not shown there. But dont think I am trying to preach communism is the way to go. I for one dont have a set gov't type, it's more of a mixture between Socialism and Plato's Republic and a few other pieces.

I'm confused....why do we give a crap about Cuba? Why do you people give a s*** what happens in Cuba or with Castro? We aren't tied to them economically. They are a small island that won't ever affect us economically or any other way (although we would contribute a couple thousand tourists per year). Other than political votes in southern Florida, it's a non-issue. And we sure don't need any more immigrants.

Now I know all the "Cuban Americans" like to pretend that they'll all leave the US and flock back to this mystery island they've never seen (or haven't seen for 40 years), the minute Castro dies. What a fantasy that is! And if they love Cuba so much, go the **** back and get out of this country. Don't like Castro, go back and start an uprising. It's all BS, this crap of being born and raised in Miami and pretending they're Cuban. Most of Cuba likes Castro, or at least tolerates his policies, and it isn't like they're all waiting to start elections and have a US style democracy so they can vote Hillary Clinton to be their next prez. The only people that have that dream is the old exiles that, now, would never give up what they have here and move back. And the US born will never go back except for a 2 week vacation.

If Fidel doesn't die and Cuba ends up going Democratic, the same thing will happen to him that is still hapenning to Pinochet in Chile; The are trying to charge him with crimes against humanity and such and he just acts senile so nothing ever happens. Even if Fidel is still alive he'll be dead before he sees any negative consequences for his actions.

What has he done that's to awful? The revolution was 50 years ago. He's just been leading that country as he see's fit, for longer than most leaders of other countries. Keep Bush Jr. in office for 50 years and than we can compare who is worse.

Human nature wins eventually, so if he was such a bad tyrant the people there would have crushed him long ago.

I lived in Cuba. I know that fact. Now answer me this: Do you think the common cuban citizen has access to those state of the art medical facilites or do you think it's reserved for those with money and they means to access them? What good are excellent facilites if you can't use em!

Dude, I'm all for having opinions but that right there is one of the most narrow minded, blind hate driven, ignorant things you could ever say. By making your agrument like that, you just make yourself look silly. If you want to live in a third world economy and make the equivalent of $10 a month while you see tourist enjoy the spoils and beauty of your land that you can't afford to provide for yourself and family, then by all means, go live under Castro.
