Fender Vents?!?!?!

I found the other idea I was thinking of. As Forcefed already said, there is no real benefit in putting a fender vent on the Protege (in the sense that you mentioned). However, if you got a shop to make a custom fender scoop like this along with a custom airbox & got piping to put your SRI filter right in that location...you could probably get some awesome results.

umm that looks horrible and does not displace heat just act like a ram air and makes your fender look like its got a pimple.

It's not supposed to displace heat, it's a scoop for the intake. You could also use a NACA duct

since you seem to be hung up on appearance.

excatly functional and flows with the lines of the car.
