Feminine Pad fell out of my engine

Does everyone have this thing? I noticed this hanging from the bottom of my car. It was attached to the back part of the plastic engine protector on the bottom of my CX-7. About the same distance from the front of the car as the driver's door. It was right in the middle of the car (left to right).

Looks to be some kind of big absorbant stickon pad.

I told my dealership about an oil leak about a month ago. I'm just wondering if this is normal equipment or something they stuck on to hide the oil leak.

I think I have that transfer case leak that other people are talking about.

Looks like the pad that sticks together to the plastic case that protects the bottom of your engine. This plastic case is located at the bottom of your engine, this case needs to be removed when you change your motor oil for example(burnout).

Hate to be cynical, but your dealer probably put it there to hide the oil leak from the transfer case because they didn't want to jack with it. Just had my transfer case replaced and it took like 23 hours labor to replace it. It is a major amount of labor for your dealership to incur.

What brand is it? Kotex, Tampax?

nah just kidding, that suppose to be stick togheter to the plastic cover at the bottom of the engine. I soaked mine in oil on my first oil change, but it was clean before that.

So.. are you saying it is standard equipment? Just want to make sure before I bring mine in and talk to the dealership.

There's something similar attached to the upside of my engine tray....I think it's more sound insulation than anything. Looks like the adhesive failed.
