Nah, I saw something very similar done but added my own little twist to it. The pic I go the idea from just had a filter on a book. I decided to get my red filter out, grabbed my Bible, and a couple of props to add the shadows. I shot about 25 pics. Ran this one thru photoshop and whala.

Thanks for the props (no pun intended)

That's a cool shot, but am I just missing the reflection in that pic? I don't see anything reflecting.

Got to love the easy filtering of PS.

Hey its within the rules. I never claimed it was anything more than a filter. I like the original pic enough but since the rules state that it just had to originate from an actual photo then its within bounds. If anyone does not like the rules including photoshop and they want pure photograhy then lets put it to a vote or something. :) I'm all for it but don't knock my picture for staying within the rules(enguard). I'm following the guidelines set forth my the thread poster.

I can post the original pic if you need proof. I just liked this effect.

Oh and BTW I am fully capable of illustrating any pic I take in photoshop or illustrator using layers or brushes.I can post a self illustration I did of myself if you wish. I am a graphic designer by trade and I work in PS:CS2, Illustrator CS2 and Indesign everyday. I'm playing by the rules just like everyone else.

If you've got nothing nice to say.........

But seriously, I got nothing but love for ya, but I took the time to pose the figure, choose the right angle for my shot and I took several shots before deciding on the once I used. From beginning to end it is all my work.:)

I'm chill! I'm in a zen state of mind. But it sounded like he was saying I didn't put any effort into my entry, which I did and I stayed within the rules. If the contest states no photoshop alteration, then thats what I'd do, but all it states is that it has to originate from an original pic that you took.

But you're right, I overracted a little. I think in the end though Photoshop does not make the content of the picture better, you can have a cool pic ruined by messing with it in PS. I just thought that this particular filter enchanced an already cool picture I took.

If my picture violates the rules in anyway I'd be glad to remove it and submit the unfiltered version. :)

No harm no foul.(first)

The lights hits the red filter (which I made B&W in photoshop) and it "reflected" the image of a heart in the crease of the book.

Here is the original photo

Image removed b/c it is outside of the rules according to nate0123

Those Bionicles are pretty neat. :)

NOTE: This is not my entry! Just the other pic I'd considered submitting. My official entry is on Page 2.

lol, just because you used the word "reflected" in your sentence, doesn't mean that's what is happening... there's a fundamental difference between light being reflected off of a surface and light being filtered as it passes through an object (i.e., a filter).

Some fun reading material:

February's Theme: Reflections
Any and everything that has a reflection or creates a reflection. Examples: mirrors, glass, metal, water, etc. These are just a few examples: Just use your imagination :).

i took that to mean it doesn't have to be a picture OF a reflection, just of somethign that can create a reflection....splitting hairs much ;)
