fastest n/a miatas?

I think it is probably the 1999. According to a test from when they first came out, a 99 10 AE is slightly faster in a straight line than a 99 Sport. Results from the Solo II Nationals show that a 99 Sport is probably the best version for autocrossing. Of course none of these are actually fast and the difference is small.

The new NC will probably be fastest when it is released.

2.0L engine from the 1.8L that is currently in. I think they said around 162HP? I'm not sure the exact numbers, but it will be the fastest production N/A Miata to date.

It's pretty bad when I read 'N, A, and Miata" in the same sentance and think of the 90-97 models (freak) .

I'd say the 2nd gen models equipped with VVT.

There is one with an LS1 in it too. That is probably pretty quick...

I seem to remember the 1999 was the fastest, but not by much...

I meant to say with bolt-on mods, at the wheels. Is it easier to add horsepower than the FS-DE engine?

And the friggin' Monster V-8 don't count. :D

why not, i love the monster miata.. lol

they make a stroker kit to stroke the 1.8l to the 2.0, dunno if it makes much a differance, but i have seen it.. makes u wonder can u put the fs-de block in there?

Probably?

After you take the difference in engine weight into consideration, it would be like an F-body on a 700-800 pound diet. Yeah I think it woud be "very" quick. As long at you don't break any drivetain parts I would guess low 12's in the 1/4.

Maybe I should rephrase my question :)

what WHP can you get out of a first generation with $1500 in non-turbo mods?

what WHP can you get out of a second generation with $1500 in non-turbo mods?

Of course that's more $ than what Kevin did his sick turbo for... :D

i dont see why u would break drive train parts, u have to put the ls1, tranny , custom driveshaft and new rear end to hold the power and trq.. so its like u said a 2000lbs gokart with a v8
