I've been in school now for a year at The Art Institute of Vancouver for 3D Modeling for Animation and Games. Best decision I've made in my life. It's been tons of fun, homework is fun, I look forward to going to school! Got one year to go, and then I'm set loose. Hoping to get into a video game studio when I'm all finished, and there are just tons to choose from around here. For now, thought I'd show off some work I've done so far. Any and all feedback is greatly appreciated, both positive and negative............as long as it's constructive please! Most of the images are hosted in higher res, so right click any image, go to properties, and copy and paste the url to see if there is a higher res available.
Here's a quick render I have of a Colt I modeled for a class. Only a few hours in this, so it's still a WIP. I'll finish it off later with textures.

About 5 months ago, I did this character. First character I had done, and I was pleased with the result. It's not something I want to do when I'm done, but I do still have fun with them from time to time.

A bust of a cartoony character I did in that same class. Had more fun with this one. At some point I will finish the model and texture it as well. Thinking of a realistic texture on it to give it the idea of a hyper-realistic person.

A few months into the program, I realized environments and prop modeling is what I loved to do. I can sit for hours on end modeling and playing with these kinds of things, and I feel it's my best work by far. Here is the first complete building I did. The idea was to model a building, and texture it as if it were abandoned, rundown, etc. Was really pleased with the result.

Here is the second building I did for that class. Not as pleased with the texture on this one because I had less than half the time to texture it. I may redo it in the future.

Our final for this class was to use other classmates' buildings they made, and build an environment. This was a thrill to put together. I spent many hours on the composition, the placement, the camera position, building more props, texturing, everything. Some of the buildings in the midground aren't made by me, and I can't take credit for about 50% of the props in the scene either. Full res on this is 1920x1080.
