Hey guys

I own a 2003 P5 that im looking to sell or trade in for a 2007 Wrangler.
I just got back from the stealership and they offered me 5000 as a trade in. I nearly laughed in thier faces. I told them to call me tomorrow when the number heads north to 8 and walked.

Car has 50000 miles, 5spd, alpine head unit(cda-9835), all alpine tpye R speakers, 15 inch woofer, Everything is amped. Leather interior, moonroof, cruisecontrol, alarm, and tint all around. I have 17 inch enkei rims with toyo tires, and the original rims mounted with snow tires(both have seen two seasons). Front and rear brakes are under a year old. Its got a ding in the front hood and an inch scrath in the rear bumper.

So in all honesty what is a fair price for the trade in, and for private sale.
If anyone is seriously interested and in the southern NH area i could definitely put it up for sale.

Thanks

Check Kelly Blue Book...A dealer would put that thing back on the lot and sell it in a week...for probably 10K....So doesn't sound like a good trade in....I'd speculate in my area I'd get around 8,000 to 8,500 for my trade and they'd sell it in two days on the lot...It's not a car that will collect dust for them on the used lot...

Thats what I told them

yeah... with only 50k miles yeah... its at LEAST in the upper 7ks
but of course you won't see that form the dealerships
you could sell it to me for 6.5k =) we'll both win in this situation

ya, you'll see north of 8 when it goes on their lot the day after the trade! dealers...(notcool) ya that this is worth 8 with 50k

Value also has a lot to do with your location...Check the local vehicle ads and see what they list as...and check local dealers and what they are selling for....

I just traded my yellow '03 P5 last month for my MSP at a mazda dealer w/ 53,000 on it for $8,200, no leather all stock.
You should be able to get at least that!

Sell it yourslelf and forget the trade in. Why do that? You're just handing the dealer money that you could otherwise have.

Dealer called back this morning with an offer of 6500. When i asked where the extra 1500 was yesterday they clammed up. Still not where i want them to be. Going to several more dealers tonight to see whats what. I called a mazda dealer with mazdas on the lot and they said 7500-8500 depending on the condition. so we shall see

If they are getting only 7500-8500 off the lot, then 6500 isn't too bad...They are in the business to make some profit..

Thanks for your heads-up guys. I got the dealer to 7500 and minus 500 off the sticker. Drove the new Jeep home today. Already in love. So cheers to my first and gone love, the P5, and drink up to soft-topped sweetness.

Damn, they were really trying to low-ball you on that...Good to here you out educated them on the real value....They'll still have it sold in a week..and make a few bucks off that deal and selling you the Jeep...

thinking about going to a Honda Fit, because of the mpg as well as added safety. side curtain airbags and ABS. we have a 2 y.o. and safety is a primary concern.

anyways. CARMAX offered $8500 for it, but they have advertised for like $13-14k.

then 1 honda shop offered $6k..i laughed and pretty much left. another honda shop came up to 7k but they were nearly sticker for a certified FIT.

'03.5 43k, auto, remote start, kenwood H/U w. sirius.

i think i could get maybe 9500-10000 private sale.
