Faint ticking sound from dashboard!

Hi everyone... I have a brand-new CX-7 and have noticed a weird noise coming from the vehicle. The best way to describe it is a faint tick, tick, tick (basically, every second) coming from the general dashboard area.

It occurs constantly and does not increase in volume or frequency. The other strange thing is that it happens whether the vehicle is fully on (e.g. the engine is running) or if I just have the ignition turned to ACC mode (e.g. just vehicle power).

Any ideas on what it could be? Obviously, I don't think it's the engine, but rather sometime electrical.

This is the first I have heard of this. Have you been to the dealer with the problem yet>?

Yes - the day after I picked up my vehicle, I mentioned it to the salesperson.

She had to bring my CX-7 back into the dealership for me anyways because the dealer technicians had forgotten to reconnect the FM/AM antenna after installing my Sirius receiver (which made me nervous to begin with!).

The salesperson said that she couldn't hear it (even though I could, my girlfriend could, and the majority of the rest of my family could), but said she'd mention it to the techs. Of course, it was diagnosed as regular valve/engine noise.

At that point, I hadn't figured out that it would do it when the engine was off too.

Any thoughts?

I guess I should just try and bring it in again?
