dealer "added" side sill extensions and rear spoiler.. did they use "wrong" part? for spoiler? may be installed it wrong?
does your 08 rear spoiler look like mine?

yep. the sport's that i have seen look like that also. I wonder if it has something to do with the window washer??? The window washer on mine is built into the spoiler.

True, it is OEM but not the one that comes from factory with the Touring, Grand Touring or Sport Popular package (US model). One of the differences I see is that the ones that are installed at the factory have the window sprayer "built-in" as part of the spoiler and yours has it attached to the lift gate, not to the spoiler

Now that I see it, I like yours because somehow it "lifts" the overall car profile in the back, the ones that come from the factory make it look like you are hauling heavy cargo at all times :D

Check on Mazda USA accessories and MazdaStuff(dot)com, I'm almost certain that the OEM offered are like yours (for mazdaUSA check under the 2007 model, the 2008 has nothing yet, at least when I checked stuff for mine)

Man, and I needed to wash those cars before taking those pics, damn Winter (boom02)

Just wondering, would the difference in profile minimize the turbulence behind the 5? I noticed right now that the GS without any spoiler swirls the condensation from the exhaust around the back. The factory spoiler on the GT slopes downward so I suspect it doesn't really do much difference from one without any spoiler.

I gave it a look. It seems that the roof level brake light is also part of the spoiler, so my guess is that with the window sprayer and the brake light included, the "factory" one would be more difficult and more expensive to install if sold as an accessory...

Some big pics here:

well, i ain't any aerodynamic major.. but i highly doubt that spoiler in M5 produces any turbulence or downforce (lol2)
(i am sure it does.. but very minimal..at best)
