Factory Order

Anyone factory order a P5? I'm interested in a Laser Blue with ABS package only, and can't find one on dealer lots. How long did it take?

Well I'll tell you what I had to go through when I wanted to get my Yellow P5. Couldn't find any in stick so my retarded dealer (he has since been fired and replaced with a guy that actually cares) said we'd have to order it. The range went from 4 wks to 5 mths. After he was fired my new sales person ended up talking with the area Mazda rep and the rep convinced a dealer in PA to transfer it to my MD dealer after explaing the problems I was going through (trust me I had my fair share of probs including the dealer losing a $500 check). I would ask your dealer to see if he can convince a semi-local dealer to transfer the car. Good luck....it's going to be a pain in your ass no matter what.

Oh yeah, sorry I didn't put how long it took me to get the car......."ordered" it on 2 Jan 02 and received it on 23 March

Thanks for the warning; I'll be sure to deal with someone who knows what they're doing. Sounds like about 2 1/2 months; just perfect for avoiding this crappy CT winter!

I didn't factory order mine, I just wanted a 2002 Protege5 Manual, i really didn't care about the color, and since it was close to 03 i knew i could get the 02 a little cheaper. the dealerships in brandon/tampa didn't have a manual one left, so they brought one from a little distance away. That was Nov 9th and I got my car Nov 11th. But I'm not sure if it was that far out. Plus that was just a "courtesy mazda" thing they do, where if another dealership has it, they will transfer it from however far away it is.
